| I'll go out on a limb and predict that England will win it's first game. It is against the US afterall. With SA winning it all for no particular reason and with nothing to back it up. As for the field goals, the points used to make sense back when the balls weren't made perfectly and the fields weren't so well groomed. Now you have everyone and their grandma kicking from the sideline and making it.

| Freedivenz... sorry about that... I am of the school that says that you need to talk it up beforehand if you want to have the right to revel in victory afterwards. Nice vid, by the way. Although it pains me, if it is not to be the AB's I would put my money on Australia. You have to admit, the buggers know how to win. Like the idea of changing the points value of drop goals.. maybe to one point. And then to make the game more open, we should reduce the number of players on the field to.. say... 13.

| And stop that whole maul thing, it just slows the game down. Maybe when a person is clearly tackled we let him get back up and play the ball to someone else?

| Good idea, there is too much cheating at the mauls. But you couldn't just let a team go on getting tackled and getting up again indefintely, they would use it to run down the clock. You would need to put a limit on it, say 6 times tackled and then the other team gets the ball?

| Just saw that ITV in the UK has the rights to the RWC and they send all of the channels also live via their website: http://www.itv.com/Sport/rugbyworldcup/default.html However.... that is only available if you live in the UK. Somehow their site detects you are not in the UK and shuts you down. I am not a computer geek, so only tried changing my regional settings and that didn't work. If anyone knows how to be tricky tricky tricky and fool their site I would appreciate it. My only chance to watch is in going to the pub (sigh). Oh well.... In a burst of patriotism while reading the thread today I went and bought a NZ rugby jersey so I could be kitted out when supporting. Unfortunately I now see that in my enthusiasm I accidently ordered two. If anyone in Europe is looking for a brand spanking new AB's jersey (Large), then I am your man.
