Hey benson a win is a win isn't it?? We kicked arse at the last world cup and deserved to win all be it by a drop goal (by a far better looking player than Loti ;-) ). The all blacks should walk the world cup this year but until that happens i'm going to enjoy saying that england are still the current world cup champions ha!

I thought that most women watched rugby for the same reason as Alex!

There's obviously not many South Africans on the forum yet as I thought that they would be talking up the Boks chances this year.

It's also good to see that the Kiwis on this site can at least have a realistic view on the ABs and their past track record at this time of a RWC year! You'd have to say if the RWC started this weekend that the ABs would win without a doubt. However, I would have said that this far out from the last RWC and the one before and .....! Should be interesting if their interesting "rest" strategy during Super14 pays off?

I agree with down-grading the worth of a field goal. They should also impose tougher penalties for professional fouls within 5m of the try-line.

Rugby is about scoring tries and any disincentive for teams to score tries is lame.

The only good field goal ever in Rugby was Steve Larkhams effort against the boks in the 99 rwc.

Hey Gav, that's a bit of a generalisation! I watch union because I was forced to spend the majority of my weekends as a kid on the sidelines(Dad's a coach, brother plays - its a family thing) ... the fact that I was allowed into the locker room after the match may contribute to it as well. I was too young to understand

I might have a stupid question, but does anyone know a site where I can watch the games online or so, even if I have to pay for it.
All the Swedes are completely into icehockey (which is also pretty cool) and absolutely nobody transmits rugby. Not even the sportsbars!

Hey Gav, I checked out that site, since the start is less than a week away... those games are on a 24 hours delay! The cheek... so you know already what the score is and who won (how can you not resist peeking), and they still want US$50 for it!

Benson - are you going to the AB's vs. Scotland in Edinburgh 23 Sept? I got offered a ticket the other day, but checked out flights and I would end up paying around NZ$ 7 or 8 hundred for one game and have to leave directly afterwards. A tad too much I thought. If you are keen I will try to hook you up.
