It's a percentages thing. Increasing an IQ of 200 by 10% is a substantial increase. Unfortunately, increasing 40 by 10% is unlikely to make a significant difference in your life.

and benny, i think you have your IQ logic mixed up... the difference of an IQ of 200 + 10% would surely be another couple hundred pages on the end of some scientific thesis...

the difference between an IQ of 40 and one of 40 + 10% would more likely be the difference between eating orange peels off the ground because you like the colour orange and they feel squishy under your feet, and eating them off the ground because they taste better than chalk. i think the 40 IQ guy gets a better deal.
