One R I think Carol...

I think that it depends on what the player is doing whether you would call it harassment or not... Screaming, well yes, of course. However, I often go up to the ref after the game and talk to them, but that is so that I can understand why they made certain calls - they would have seen situations differently to myself in the water of course. Also, when the refs penalise me and I do not think I did anything wrong then I want to know what they saw (or think they saw)... since even though I don't think I am fouling, if it looks like I am then I need to change something.

Some will say that you should wait until later, and let emotions cool down a bit, before talking after the game. However the best chance of the ref remembering a situation is straight after the game.

Cool more clarity

I should have been more clear. I am always ready and willing to talk with players after a game; their/your opinions count and must be given hearing and consideraton. The situations I mentioned were yelling, angry, on edge of control players, so I strongly suggested a later discussion (after I checked the rule(s) in question) and politely, calmly excused myself and went to ref's room. I was once followed into the ladies bathroom by an angry player (ladies there not happy), so ref's room is best refuge where often other refs are in residence.
