glove color

Just a small simple question:

are white and black colors allowed ?? I mean, a white color is contrasting when using a black stick, but may cause more confusion to players...

Thanks,
Sebastián

To my knowledge this is allowed. The rule for contrasting colors is mainly for making it easier on refs to call gloving.
The fact that it might confuse other players is irrelevant. It's up to them to look for more than just the stick.

Yes its allowed
1.A black glove and a white stick
2.A white glove and a black stick

there are more colours allowed. but still the rule is then it must be a contrasting colour.
And in the netherlands also not the colour from the puck.(simmspuck)

Rule 11..3.3.1/page 11-2

The hand protection (ie gloves) must be of a strongly contrasting colour to that of the stick or puck. This is to avoid confusion if the puck is being controlled by the player's hand. The colours yellow or orange must not be used for player's hand protection as these are reserved for Water Referees gloves. Note: for World Championships the puck must be orange or pink (rule 2.5.6.4) so at some World Championships pink may not be allowed as hand protection colour.

Glove colour

Hi Guys - rule is my fault if you need someone to blame. :-)

Introduced it at Worlds a few years back after everyone started practising catching on glove instead of stick (because it's easier to control the puck after the catch). Many of them then started boasting that they never got caught because they used a black glove with a black stick (and vice versa!).

Definitely makes it easier to see how the catch is made (on stick or glove), as well as whether 'hand' is being used to move the puck while on the bottom.

I've had a few people tell me they have had trouble telling who is on their team because the glove colour confuses them but personally I've never actually found it to be a problem as I tend to look for the stick anyway. As someone else mentioned, glove can be a light neutral colour, such as a light blue or green or grey, so you don't need to have black glove/white stick or vice versa. As long as it strongly contrasts with teh stick colour - WHEN WET! :-)

Cheers, Simon

Glove colour 2

Personally, I use white glove when playing black, and black glove when playing white - for what it's worth!

Good thing to tell.
SOme sticks but also glove has a little different colour when wet/underwater.

SOme other question.
SOme gloves has standard a white underground and only a different colour protection.
(like you see by the Mareh/slovenian gloves)

Is that allowed by playing with a white stick. I made the underground also contrasting, also because there are some reff's that say by a white underground that its not compleet contrasting. So it illigal to play with.

Sven, the Mareh gloves in general have a blue or grey background with brown or light blue protection.
I have been using them for years and never encountered any problems.
