| A-B Section splits To make this easier I have taken this from the World's 2008 thread.
For World's 2008 it will be as it has been in the past. The split for B comes once there are 13 or more teams. Not sure what happens at 21 or 25. Any less than 13 and you get fairly screwed up on the scheduling if you split it. At 11 you would have 8 and 3 so that doesn't make sense. At 13 you get 8 and 5 so you get more than half a division with friendlies filling the gaps.
You can read about it in section 4 of the rules which I just did and noticed that the rules have changed to read that inter-division games are not required -- rule 4.1.4.3.1 It then goes on to say that if the team from Section A does not want to play then the team from Section B can schedule an opponent, but if the team from Section B chooses not to play then the pool remains empty. It is not to be used for practice.
I wonder what the timeline for deciding not to play is. I would hate to be the team that planned on playing just to show up and find that the other team decides to cancel and then you can't even get in the water to use the time. That would suck.
Wow.
