Yeah Alex we are.

Nick - a motion has been issued to the QLD Commissioner to remove rule 6.7.1 from the by-laws that states we need to wear vests or have 80 % torso covered (therefore following the precedent at Worlds/SHC where men can wear normal speedos and women can wear normal bathers). This motion will be voted on by QLDers and that decision taken to the AGM.

Perhaps you issue the same motion to your club or state delegate so that something constructive can come of this thread?

Good on you QLDers!!! I tried to get it raised at the AGM last year but was confounded by beauracracy which said that any motion has to be put some amount of time in advance and I wasn't told about the AGM until it was too late. These days we don't usually send anyone to the AGM from ACT unless Dave Lambert is going and he isn't involved so much anymore, but we do get a vote which gets communicated by the NSW delegate.

Alex, sorry for the rants. I don't mean to be a wanker (its just that I really hate those vests.... in case you can't tell) and it doesn't seem right to be told how good for us vests are by people who don't have to and don't wear them.

Just to add a different angle...

are you guys talking about what YOU like or dislike?
or are you discussing what's best for the game?
:?

I voted against the vest just because I liked the unbiased way the poll was presented. But I also agree that we should not have to pay for something like this. We already have enough expenses. Unfortunatley if it takes hold in Aus, then it will likely get proposed and voted in at World's. Hopefully enough other nations will squelch it there.

You want something good for the sport -- follow the clothing rules of Beach Volleyball. They get big sponsor money.

I agree. THis time with Lena.

For the rest i read only in this discussion. I dont now those vests. But like the question i ask before. For some players (even men) it can be a sulution the wear a good fitting vest. Because the piersings they have.
And good fitting i mean like the shark swimming trousers by fast swimming. Like ian thorpe and pieter vd hoogeband.(the top off the world when you talk about swimming.)

The photos this i how he swimms new world records...

And maybe some teams will wear them in the futher , because sponsership.

If it is a sponsorship issue, then how about making the vests optional? That way players without sponsors (ie all of them, but maybe that will change) won't have to wear them.

Depends what argument needs supporting. If it's about the vests, okay, but for marketing -- bingo!

Yes i agree players must self can choose off they wear them.
Players with piersings maybe realy likes it.

But some teams also has sponsers.
I can realy see it before me that in the near futher there will be teams with vests with sponsers on them.

Before some remarks will come. Yes Tilburg (my team) has sponsers.

Piersings, do you mean piercings? Like nipple rings? That would probably be a minority I would have thought.

Don't know about the full body suits as they would get ripped to shreds, and I'm sure Nicky would agree that they are way too expensive.
