| NZ Fundraising 2006 Belle, NZ Teams (ie all of them) obtain donated goods for a Squad Auction and a Raffle. We also held a Quiz Evening. The Raffle had donated prizes and each team had 5000 tickets to sell each at $2. We had an IPOD nano for the person who sold the most. The Junior Teams parents provided most of the prizes and sold most of there allocation and a the Womens Team sold close to their allotment with only 9 players. The Mens Team didn't do that well with the Raffle ticket selling but Benson and Ben did some modelling of Dressing Robes and the Mens team were busy during the auction getting the bids increased At the quiz evening we sold table of tickets and had had snacks & dips etc and people having BYO. The quiz also had an Auction between Quiz rounds and we auctioned off goods and services. Best sale was a long weekend at a one player's holiday house at Lake Taupo which went for $880. We also had a silent Auction with All Black Shirt, Signed NZ Team Cricket Bat etc. The Amount Raise was approximately $15K and all the Teams worked together to produce an impressive result. A lot of effort went into the Funding and Sponsorship by the previous High Performance Coordinator Anton Trixl and Sponsorship Coordinator Sonja Braddock. Kind Regards Tristan Chairman/ Schools Underwater Hockey NZ |

| From little things, big things grow! Since writing this thread a few months ago and thinking alot about fundraising and what you acheived in NZ I am doing the following: Fundraising for the Vic Jnr team for the 2008 nationals Have nominated as the Victorian Jounier Underwater hockey fundraising development person Have had a meeting with the coach and potential vic team parients Have found out that there are shire grants avaliable to jnr athleats, so we are planning to apply for funding. Have a goal to raise $2000, $800 to go towards the team registration fee and $100 per player to subsadise the cost of uniform worth waring. We will raise funds through raffels and donations of goods The first raffel is kicking off at the up and comming Leongather mixed comp and have targeted the next 4 vic comps between now and nationals. I figure If we start small and achieve this target it can develop into something bigger for the future. I will keep you all informed as to the progress! If you have anything you wish to donate as a prize please send me a PM Cheers Belle ![]()

| Fundraising A few years ago the Dutch teams did also a fund raising action. The Dutch man, sold wine so I think. (I did not now it for sure.) I do not drink alcohol. And sold equipment made by them (not a very good quality. All those wooden sticks broke the fist or second game. But the Dutch ladies were better in fund raising. They made a calendar (like good calendar girls) and sold them to much players.(see the pictures) one or the only calendar with all the names written by the lady’s in it.. The other things were we as TRB-RES were very happy with they sold candy bars by the competition. A bet by that made that we did get a calendar with all the names/signs in it. But after all the calendar was the best idea they had. And it was popular by much players. See the signs on the picture, All 3 were dutch ladys at that time. ![]() ![]()

| We also did sometimes some fundraising for a toernament. And sold equipment. But that is not easy. The only strong point for us is that we are the cheapest in the Netherlands even when we ask a little bit more for gloves and sticks. As you look to our prices and to the nearest BOA shop prices we are also much cheaper. Glove from us (without sending cost)10 euro=16,4 aus dollar for 1 glove Glove by Boa Shop (without sending) 18 UK pounds=43,1 aus dollar Stick from us (without sending)15 euro=24,6 aus dollar a pair Stick from boa shop(without sending)16 UK pounds=38,3 uas dollar Sticks boa shop(dorsal) without sending 26 UK pounds=62,2 aus dollar PS Belle do you mean these colours? ![]()

And I do not ask Belle for money. I only ask her to test a glove and iff she wanted some colours. The underlayer is made from another material then i used to use. So its a testing glove. Al the gloves i already sold or are tested, i did get good responce for. There were some players by that that are playing at the highest level in the Netherlands. the Protection is good! They fit good arround the hand! And the are made how they want them to. (some protection is standard, some protection is not. And some players want more or other protection stripes on there gloves) Costum made i think they call that. Iff you find that a disgrase, then you are a disgrase for the underwaterhockey sport. Equipment so also gloves must be easy to find and get for all players. And for a good price. THese are cheap i now, but they are also good. And new clubs and players can so find and get easy good equipment. But the top players can also as easy have those with there personal wishes. My own glove. ![]()
