Off Half-Backs Rule

Nationals, eat your heart out!
The VUHC has booked the 50mt pool with a depth of 2.2mt. We will not be playing in the 3mt court due to cost and pool configuration bookings.

2 Courts will be made with warm up area.

2 Booms will be used to make side subbing avaliable. The booms are narrow in width so no chairs will be put on the booms, and yes Im sure if you cant lift yourself onto boom due to sholder injury or something like that an alternative arrangermemt will be made for special cases (I think).

The tiles have all been redone due to the lates FINA world champs. The new laid tiles do not lift just the old 1ns, nearly all the pool has been relaid. The cost of the pool is expensive and arrangements and plan B's are being explored if tiles lift during the comp. The suggested plan would be to use the 3mt for finals if the pool got ripped up, this is just a plan B option. We start back in the pool soon, so I guess untill then we will get a clearer idea on how the tiles will hold up. (and itf your not happy with that you can always play on the plastic that is available, NOT, just kidding) (Hendo, we have Amy Barry a Lawyer on organising commitie so Im sure the pool contract bookings and plan B's will be put in place legally)

The walls that will be uses are the existing walls that we have with Canvas from WA to add to the height. We can leave the walls in over night as well.

Camera and big screen are trying to be organises for finals.

Presso will be at LUNA PARK with designated late after party venue, yip yip yee, rides for the first hour then onto the function room, hmm vomit in the Gravatron, nice.

POOL BOOKING – Confirmed booking a MSAC 17th to 20th Jan 2008

COSTS $11, 200

LAYOUT - two 25 m x 12.5 meters courts in two meters water and a warm up area, bulkhead at the outside of each court for side subbing centre wall for both courts, no space between courts.

WALLS – same walls we have with some repairs and the inclusion of WA wall extensions attached by Velcro only in the middle so puck can’t go into next court.

TILES – need to confirm what happens if tiles lift, could we access the 3 meter pool for warm up area, incase we need to play in that pool. Kirsteen to find out. Do we need to have a draw that has some games in the 3 meter pool ?

TEAMS - expect a min of 16
Invite Singapore, Philippines, Japan, New Zealand as well these teams compete for points but can’t play finals.

PUCKS – Debbie is holding 10 but we will need about 40 – 50 pucks Dave Barry to follow up this with email to Deb.

SECTION B RULES – need to include that if tiles lifted may have to play some games or finals in the 3 meter pool.

Vests will be worn by men


FOOD – can we sell food at the pool? Kirsteen to find out.

VIDEO,TIME KEEPING AND SCOREBOARD EQUIPMENT –
Al to liaise with Tas to see what we can borrow or hire from them. Kirsteen to check if anything available at the pool. Sharon Davies does have a camera. If we can run TV on other days we will do for promotion purposes.

MEDALS – Need at least 144, Rees to contact Simon Talbot about this.
Pete Davies Trophy – Most Determined to we have all categories for the whole tournament , yes and are they all named after Pete or do we have other notable contributors to sport acknowledged. Problem will be having other states endorse it. Kirsteen follow up with Simon and states.
MVP – for finals only


PROGRAMS/I.D TAGS/TICKETS – Alex to design and others to help collate them.Thor may have printing contacts.

TSHIRTS – VOLUNUTEERS – Kirsteen to arrange.

VOLUNTEERS – To be organized by Sarina. Sharon Davies and Karryn Thomas to run Office, Alex’s Dad to be the pool deck co – coordinator. Kirsteen to advertise for volunteers and then to pass this list to Sarina.

SPONSORSHIP- Amy to coordinate fundraising and product donations. Already have family ticket to Luna Park Unlimited rides and TYR donating some goods to be confirmed. Thor may be choc !

MEDIA – Alex, Linda and Nina.

REF – Ask Craig Barlow to be chief ref for us and tournament! Pay him !

INSURANCE – Rees to incorporate on the new policy the Nationals.

PRESO NIGHT – Luna Park voted the venue $85.00 adults, $55 juniors
Gourmet BBQ Kirsteen and Eden to organize, Alex help with Balloons and Nina organise Band and DJ.

DEPOSITS – Dave Barry fund and the Trust fund options Rees waiting for Trust fund to respond.

Can you advise what the insurance status will be with respect to New Zealand Team participation in Aussie Nationals will be?

Last year our Junior Teams used the 3m court in build up for Worlds and we were given and $600 bill per team for insurance. Our players were all covered by travel insurance so we were unimpressed. When we challenged Rhys Quilford my team manager received a very unsatisfactory reply.

UWHNZ is happy to promote the tournament to our members but we need to reach agreement on the following aspects:
 Affiliation to UWHNZ is enforced
 Indemnity and Public liability insurance
 UHA/ VUHC reciprocates with covering the costs of referees to attend

Please advise accordingly

Hi TKR, I have forwarded your post to the VUHC commitie. I hope they can get in touch with you soon and clarify your questions and concerns.
I have no idea about the insurance money.

At the moment the costs look like this
$100 per person individual fee
$850 snr team fee, or $650 for jnr team fee
$25 AUF levy
All players need to be and AUF member for insurance
Optional-Presso at Luna Park
Accomadation in St Kilda back packers are cheep and close.

These are the details provided to all states indending to compete.
