atapene will become famous soon enough
current leader in who has the best togs is vic, although tassie have been getting good reviews for their forest green vests... but the addition of a little pink on the sides has been holding them back. the WA buzzy bee black and yellow seems to be slipping in under the radar un-noticed.

So is the addition of a little pink holding them back because there is not enough pink?
Surely the more pink the better.

Jols is on a distinguished road
Didn't the Baabaas play this morning Carl? If so, I am interested to see the results.. but for a cruel twist of fate (i.e. my wife getting pregnant) I would have been there too, and feel the need to live vicariously. Something you too will come to understand now that you are a father.

Thumbs up Reporting from the Nationals....

Well, the tournament has been running smoothly so far.... no dramas to report and it looks as though all of our fabulous volunteers are doing a fantastic job!

The Women's division is looking particularly tight, with 5 real contenders for the 4 semi spots. So far it appears that ACT has been the surprise team, we (the Vic women) played them in our last game on Day 1 and they certainly showed a lot of tenacity on the puck. This is the first time in many years the ACT have sent a team to Nationals, and it is certainly a good indicator of the renewed strength of Australian women's underwater hockey. Who could believe that five years ago the women's division was scrapped at the Nationals due to lack of interest!

Today the current top 2 teams will play the New Zealand women, who to date have cruised through undefeated with rather convincing score lines. Will Western Australia or Victoria be able to give them a shake?

The Men's division is also closely contested, although Western Australia is still asserting its dominance in the division. At this stage the contest seems to be between WA and Vic, however the thunder from down under - Tassie - is starting to get rolling despite the late withdrawal of speedster Nick Yong.

More from the pool at the end of Day Three, as well as some photos
