2007 French National Championships

So the French Nationals are being held this weekend. Will someone be able to post results, pics or a short report?

Was there any talk about the upcoming WAA Worlds and CMAS Euros?

Translated fom KLB hockeysub.com ( even the time troubles )

First round of division 1 took place in Sarcelles's pool. One can remember that last season this pool was closed for renovation and messed up organisation (women's division had to be played separatly to the men's)
Time wasn't enough for the player to fully enjoy the renovation ( wich consisted in filling the outside pool and create a wooden sun bathing platform)
Contrary to last year , it is the second round that will be at sake this year because of the lack of trensparency from FFESSM/CMAS/WAA. It ends up with a schedule where second round will be 3 days after world championship WAA and one week after world championship CMAS on a game area which is not to the standards. A certain number of players might not attend.
All concerned clubs are invited to write to the CNHS president to express their opposition and problem in having this second round at this date (a template on this site:...)

Concerning round 1 in itself :
on the women side, few changes in the ranking in respect to last year: Pontoise kept a large supremacy over Le Chesnay which was courageous though. The only challenge to the players was to compare the number of goals there were able to score against their adversaries.
Hope kept third place in tight fight with Fontenay-Tresigny which international opening (2 players from Holland came back), coaching and training of experienced players allowed them to take over Asnieres and Rennes.

On the men side, the second round robin (teams with last year odd rankings) lost Sedan which was ranked 4th and disqualified. It is remembered last year when Cahors, Hope, Sedan and Rennes were having tight games, the disappearing of Sedan has been very damageable. Pontoise and Cahors have no serious rivals anymore so they get 1st and 2nd place of their batch. On the other round robin Fontenay is over everyone else, the other games were tight and physical stress much endured by the teams.
Little final was Hope against Cahors, after a tide game (2-2) Cahors showed its ability to manage prolongations in front of an exhausted Hope team after 2 days, no training and some injuries.
The real final was Fontenay and Pontoise, it turned again on the advantage of Fontenay which was not defeated for the all tournament. It is true that Pontoise does not concede a big loss even with some key players injured (2-1)

Globally, on men and women sides game level improves considerably and game spirit is still correct. Forced to admit that putting on the side certain players known for that, there is no more discipline problems with the referees that are now easily dedicated to the faults. They can be thanked because some referees are showing up for years without any sign of tiredom.
Thanks also to the organizers. Even though playing in Division 1 in Sarcelles is usually not the best part of the championship, given todays uncertainties, it is good to know that we just played half of the Championship in correct conditions.

Am I reading this correctly? France has round one of their championships in November with round two (the conclusion) in May?

Yes, in fact it is a little bit more complex, 6 teams from Division 1 did not play yet

in order to have teams able to move up from Division 2, there is another round between November and May, usually February, where the 6 last teams from Division 1 meet the 4 first teams of Division 2. The only 6 best teams stay in Division 1 and compete at the grand finale in May.
