atapene will become famous soon enough
whoa what is going on, central dropping the ball for the first time in a while across both grades.... nice to see mid north and northern upping the tempo.

southernpuck is on a distinguished road
Has anyone put forward a proposal to change the zones? I am not sure how a zone with 100 players (top of the south, southern central or southern) or less can complete against zones (Central?) that contain 750 players. Don't quote me on the figures, I feel that it would be a good idea to redefine the zones.

amc32 is an unknown quantity at this point
Edwin, zones are a geographic/logistical thing more than a playing numbers thing.
how practical is it for top of south to combine with some suburbs of wellington whilst remainder of wellington suburbs combine with players in napier?

getting to practices 2x a week would be very expensive and time consuming. unless you are offering players free use of your private jet and helicopter fleet?

each region can only field 10 players in a team in any case, it's not an enormous scrum with 100 players from top of the south squaring off against 750 players from central. i'd suggest the way to be competitive is to be inventive with use of tactics, improve playing skills & fitness and study the strategies of successful teams/players from other regions.

Zone Numbers

Edwin,

The zones are defined based on location not numbers.

BTW the approximate number of players under 18 are

Northern- 272
Mid Northern-50
Central- 260
Top of South-55
Mid South-34
Southern-50

I personally believe that its poor organisation rather than player numbers that is the issue. It is noticable how well mid Northen performed considering their playing numbers at the U18 level.
