Open Kampioenschap / Dutch Open Championship

Thanks to everyone involved in organising and competing at the Open Kampioenschap over the weekend. It was a really fun tournament with some good hockey and lots of close games. Congratulations to Barramoenda on their win over the Argonauta Masters (or was that Argonauta and the International All Stars).

Thanks to the members of Argonauta 1 for letting me join your team, I really enjoyed playing hockey with you and look forward to the next competition.

I've put some photos from the weekend up in the Gallery http://www.flickr.com/groups/underwa...keyworld/pool/ sorry if they're a bit biased towards the Southern Hemisphere players who were there.

See you all soon

Meg

Hey Tan

Not sure what is going on with the photos. I was having the same problem when I loaded them. They seem to be there, but only visible when I'm logged in. I'll try to get it sorted.

Meg

PS. Yes Sfen, I was the one wearing the South African bathers and confusing everyone as to my nationality.

Hi Sven,

Yes that is me in the reading bathers.
It is interesting that you weren't impressed by the 2 men in the Aussie bathers...both are excellent players...one is a Dutch man btw.
what was it that impressed you from the French man? (the team that came 3rd I assume???) there were French man playing for other teams also.
Also Benson is a Kiwi...don't let people's bathers confuse you ;-)

Thanks for the photo's!

Tan

Maybe they are exellent player. They were relative fast. But i did not see anything new by them.
What i see by the frence. Some way off technicks that i did train the friday before the games.
But i did never seen it before in action.
(Maybe they did not even now it thereself and it was a wrong move.that they did not intended to do. But at that time it works)
Iff i see new things in action/games i'm impresed.
(but i also remeber it, and try it myself by training, so i learn new playing technick)
If i see old technicks i already now. I find it nice to watch.

I self may not be the best player in the world not even in the Netherlands. I'm relative a lazy player.(defender)And my brother (midfield)
When i started 10 years ago i copied much ways how to play from Roberjan and Sandor.(you can see it still in my play)
But most after all i'm alway interested in technicks and NEW technicks. (inovation)
And when i now them i learn them to my own team but after all to new clubs and teams. That good for the sport.

Maybe you impress me next summer.
Bart did ask me and my brother to come train again this year in the vacation by Barramoenda.
But do remember it was my team that trown Barramoenda 2, 2 years ago out off the first class.
They were relative faster then us at that time. But we had more controll over the puck and more technicks.
And without the puck you can be as fast as you want but you can not score.
