| So I counted and came up with 4. the first two that you split because their gal couldn't get a pass off or the guy just stuffed it back into you. Then 2 more as you came further up the middle with the gal that only got within an arm's length of the bottom. But I'll give you 4 since her stick did touch down. The fifth guy swam with you and knocked the puck away to the 4th guy that stayed with you so you never got by him. Might be worth trying in that short pool but if you were playing in more than 20 meters against people who are down you'd just get it peeled off and then would watch them take it the other way.

| the way you just swam forward, you allowed opposition players to drop in behind you - now you can't turn; and with the way your arm is our your very vulnerable to having the puck swiped off your bat but that doesn't matter because you got past 5 people on one strike you are now my hero |

| Sven, you did indeed pass by five people, although I think this is pretty rare. I don't think it would ever happen in hoofdklasse (dutch first division). Although I wouldn't consider it to be the best strike strategy, the fact is that he past five people and brought the puck close to the goal. This does create a great opportunity. If the wings now close of the side and the backs put pressure in simply regaining the puck and flicking it back forward, the goal can be scored in a number of seconds. When the opponent takes the puck in the end, he still needs to turn. If the center back follows closely as he should do, he can immediately flick it back to the forward, keeping the momentum going. As long as the puck ends up in the goal, it's an effective technique |

| come on todd, whats your special swimming technique that lets you swim forward in a way that prevents opposition dropping behind you? plus, its a strike. the whole concept of a strike is territory with momentum. turning round is pretty much mentally retarded. sven did very well but his team-mates needed to be in close support to take advantage of the ground he gained, surely.

| Hey Alex, I think the message in that particular strike from the Dutch was that they were planning and expectin to score off the strike. So plan to win or not to win the strike, and plan to score. Have a team plan and try it? Cheers Belle

| liam - from what i saw his team mates didn't know what was going on; so they didn't push up behind him to close off any gap you can't STOP players from dropping in behind you when swimming, i didn't mean that - just if your team mates knew what you were going to do they could fill in that space behind you before the opposition gets the opportunity if that makes sense ;\ |

So what will you do? pass it back and still have 6 opponents between you and the gool. Or simpley keep swimming.
