Not true. I'm not going to say I agree with the way Jols is describing a free puck to be taken, but they are not the same, and I would argue that no one on Sven’s team knows what’s going to happen, they have to react to the motion of the puck just like Jols example.
What is the big differents?
The same is.
the mid or number onme takes the puck and deside were to go to. (the same)
Other players take there positions. (also the same)
And both are reacting to the motion of the puck. (also the same)

ANd the players from the offencive team now what can hapen. and were all there fellow players are.
But like ALL free pucks the team must react to motion from the puck. THere is no differents in all tactics at this point. The only differetns is that in this consept.
every player now were his fellow player is. and everything is still open. Its an basic formation. And like all tactics it will became weak when you do always the same tactick.

And maybe there is a snake men in the team that bensont his way past the oppenets. very nice that the opponent linded up against all players. so there were less players left to "snake"passed.

In fact this consept formation and tactick is an old tactick seen in use many times.
And is improved because the flicking is improved.

The big differents by this movie and the consept is that the puck is passed before the opponents can intersept. And you see when it does been intersepted there is the back (because the flick goes wrong or something like that). so the movement/breakout can go on and like all the drawings there on the end there is the last defender.....And done at a world championship....And exacly like my drawings and swimming distance....
wauwwwwwww ooohhhhhhhh whoooowhoooowhooooo

To try to put it more clearly: in your example you are setting up as per your tactic, regardless of how the opposition sets up. In mine you wait for the opposition to set up and then move into positions where you believe you can take advantage of their weaknesses. In practice they will then try to adjust their positions and there will be a sort of wriggle fest. Goodie, since chaos is an advantage for the attacking team.

In my example the forward would not take it, but a back or the goalie.

You are most definitely right in that after it is taken there is no difference. It is then reaction to the motion of the puck. I believe though that you make it easier for the opposition to counter you in the freepuck as described.

The vid by the way: this is surely not the freepuck you drew? In this one I see two passes to the left, with a player (back?) hanging out wide to receive the puck. I thought that in your picture you only had one player width from the person taking the puck?

Indeed. but when the mid recieved the puck. at that moment its exactly what i say and made the drawings from.

THe big differents by that the right wing takes the puck is that the puck can only go forward or to the left side. So more easy for the opponent to react to. and even then the basic from the consept tactick beginning by the mid still workt.

Even when you take in mind that this is an real old movie. where players did not have the flicking skills that even the lower classes have these days.

SO in basic it is this consept.
Even the player that blockt the opponent that intersepted is in my drawing.

We might have to agree to disagree on this one Sven, since this differs from your drawing, as you admit.

When the mid receives the puck, the situation is then not the same as the picture since all body positions have changed - turning/reacting.

Right wing also has the option to take the puck to the wall. Not pretty, but ask the Kiwis about it since they were also keen at Worlds to bring the opposition to the wall and then start play from there.

Not to keep the play on the wall, but to draw the opposition in and create space for open play. At least, that was what I assumed they were doing, maybe BentFishBoy and Atapene can elaborate...

In rugby much the same thing happens when a team chooses to start a maul (big bunch of wrestling players) in order to draw opposition players in, meaning that there are less players covering the width of the field.

I think they will agree to what you are saying.
But when you go to the wall you can expect to be pinned down by the wall.
Iff you dont like wall play dont go yourself to the wall.

Hmm, not quite as easy as that... Especially when you're playing opponents that are very strong through the middle of the pool, such as Australia and Holland (well, at the last tournament anyway). You have to strike a balance between risk and reward, creating a situation where you can use the space in the middle to your advantage. Spending all your time messing around in the middle of the pool is a recipe for having the australians bend you over and perform many acts upon your person still considered illegal in many american states.

Rubbish.

You can do almost anything in America. I hear it is still legal to shoot off your six guns there after having sex. But try that in Europe and BANG - behind bars. Tolerant Dutch I do not think so.
