| So perhaps the members of this board can help. I am working on coming up with a name for the above fin. So I am looking for recommendations. So far, we have the unoriginal, Hockey Force Fin, there have been a few other suggestions but, I figured if people on here liked it, then it must be good. So bring them on. If there are multiple good ones, I'll probably start a poll and get votes to see what is most popular. |

| Same goes for me, Paul from the Netherlands. I can get the national team to try them out at one of the training sessions. This way both men and women elite can give them a try and you will receive a lot of feedback on the fins. |

| thanks for all the comments. I wanted to provide an update. At this point Force Fin is working 2 models of the fin. One version is a much more polished version of the one that you have seen here, the second version is about 2 inches shorter. I believe the shorter fin will make it even better for forwards that need absolute maneuverability while sacrificing a little speed. I have found in testing that the shorter fin is much faster in a 10 meter sprint, by about 1/2 a body length, but by the end of 25meters the longer fin wins out by about an arms length. As far as getting them out for testing. well, Force Fin is still working the production molds, they is getting very close. I am hoping to have both the final versions and correct sizes by the end of march and then I will be putting them both through their paces. Then I'll be sending them out to testing by others. At this point I have a couple of people in mind, but once I get feedback from them we'll be looking for a wider audience. I don't know when they will be widely available, but I am still hopeful that production can start by early summer. |

| If you'd like someone from SA to test them, i'd be happy to send a pair around to our Elite Men and Masters men to have a swim with them and voice their opinions... We have quite a variety of fins been used at the moment, Breir, Ala's, Quattro's, leaders as well as the UW Rugby fin and a whole lot other's that local dive companies have distributed, but they're not suitable for the Elite men and ladies...

| at this point I don't even have a final version of the fin. I the molds are nearly done, but they aren't complete yet. couple more weeks. I appreciate all the offers to test them. While I want to get a couple of pairs on the circuit, I have yet to get a final version of the fin and run them through their paces before I am willing to send them out to people. I will warn a couple of things about these fins. They are nothing like other, more conventional fins. To be honest, they feel ridiculously floppy, they pivot away from your toes which as you can imagine feels incredible weird. As I have already said, they have some other really great benefits. The problem of course is that first impressions of them are terrible, they require quite some time of use to adjust to them and really gain all the benefits of them. I am hoping that everyone can get other the first impressions and not write them off without due process. Of course I have some concern with the use of the heel strap, but I don't think that will be too much an issue, as there aren't any dangerous parts protruding, Last edited by meesier42 : 11-03-10 at 12:56 PM. |

| ...understandable, and i believe in thorough testing before you reach a verdict. however, considering the fact that someone who has never worn fibre fins can strap on a pair of breiers, sprint one length and come out of the pool feeling like they were swimming faster than they ever have before... really sounds like you have your work cut out to get people using these fins.

| Sadly, people generally are not smart nor patient enough to realize that what it feels like isn't necessarily what it is like. Too many people make decision based on first impressions without giving a lot of thought or time to find out what is real. I have seen that my whole hockey career where people have worn fins that are too big for them because they were "faster". But faster for how long?, for what part of the run?, can you repeat that speed quickly?, are they fast for turning and for getting going again?, how about on the surface?... etc. There's all kinds of faster. And just to sidetrack a bit, it all makes sense to me now that the rules have been and still are ridiculously messed up... the same people make snap decisions about fins are writing and voting on rules they haven't done due diligence to assure that it is what they meant and doesn't contradict another rule. End of sidetrack...

| maybe I am wrong here, but as I read the rules there is nothing about a simple heel strap, so long as doesn't present an additional hazard to other players. I am working on a couple of ideas that will make it appear completely smooth with nothing but and inch or two of bungie cord. |
