this is the universal off canam.
1 important thing. it has the same plates on top and below. indeed in the beginning very smoot.

TRB-RES trained for many years with some off these and some canam guelp pucks. So it is interestin how this dutchy puck is in relation to these.

But beside that also how it is how it is towards the bontje and simms. that also has plates on them.

For Sven:
I was testing it in Breda, in the Argonauta pool. Tiles are reasonable there, better than average but could be faster, large tiles but the grout is maybe a little too wide and the tiles could be a little faster.
I used one of Bensons plastic fantastic sticks last night.
It was a Wednesday, 9 p.m. temperature was 22 degrees and there was a gentle breeze.
For lunch that day I had pasta.
Any other variables that you would like me to cover?
maybe the colour of your swimming trousers?

The puck materials are the same as the universal pucks, but have a much different shape and weight. I am glad to see some input after testing, please continue to give feedback. Another thing you must consider is when you are shooting this puck with set of CanAm sticks, the puck will allway go 2 feet farther than any other stick design

You think this "dutchy" puck is fast, you should try the Uni2 (which is almost ready for production) You can see this puck in action on my webpage. canamsticks.com - Home

This can be an interesting discussion.
I make a different discussion for this so we can talk about the Dutchy puck in this discussion.

Disappointing thing is that they are not made anymore,....

I did get a e-mail today from W.Bontje
The puck can still be made. Only not one by one. But 100 pices at 1 time.
And it,s not a cheap puck. And who needs as player 100 pucks?

Maybe something for Steve to think about?
(or everybody who has interest)
I can get him in contact with W.Bontje.

THanks for the Idea Sven, but I'm trying to create a new but similar puck to the old Bontje puck.

Also Sven, the Bontje puck sold for around 55 Euro when he was selling it, probably a little more now. Steve is most likely going to be selling this one for 40 USD, about 30 Euro. I get the feeling that Mr Bontje was making a killing off of his puck for a few years.

The two pucks play pretty similarly. Time will tell if Steve's puck is as durable, but I do not think that the Bontje puck is worth twice the money.

If it lasts twice as long it is. And based on the image showing a 10 year-old bontje, it would be well worth 3x. Assuming that was 10 years of playing not just sitting on the floor as a door-stop.

My clubs does play 12 year now with some bontje pucks. And there is still no puck broken. A different story with some other pucks. SO the bontje was really worth the price.

Hi guys,

so we played with the puck a couple of times now, and most of the reactions are really good. I'm handing out the little businesscards of CanAm, and that as well is going well.
A lot of our national top-players played with it, and they agreed that it was a great puck. Fast handling, far flicking.. Only thing we have to get used to is that it doesn't 'bounce' after a flick, maybe that's the 'new' thing and it will deteriorate, maybe we just have to get used to it
Coming events:
- French Champs
- Open Dutch Championships
- South-Africans tour in Netherlands
Then I'll give the puck to Sven if he isn't at one of these events. But Sven, I'd like it back for further training sessions with the National Squad, that will show it's endurance the fastest...

That was my question as well: Sven, why didn't Tilburg send any guys to the National Training in Dordrecht? I heared you have two big strong guys? Just let them play at top level, maybe they get better. The student is supposed to get better than the teacher

Cheers

They are already better then my and my twin. Only by experiance we can still win.
But still we can learn them a lot. (and they learn it to the younger players.)
But iff they wanted to go, then the had all our support. But they don't want it at this moment. They choose for there study and playing for fun. And i respect that.

PS Next year all three will be at the competition. It will be very much fun.

I don't now iff i can be there. Next saterday i'm in Eindhoven to see the underwater camera system and the finswim championship. About the endurance. Steve said it was the same material as the universal canam puck. So i can tell it already. We do train now for 4 or 5 years with some guelps and universals. So we can see the differents between thoose pucks and the Dutchy. Maybe nice to hear for you. Those youngsters also test sticks/glove/pucks for us.

PS will send you a PM this day (13-05-2009)
