Legends - a new fin is born

Ok, now... I cant hold it back any longer, I have to show it now. Its my newly made fins, and I named them Legends. It has been in development for the better part of 2008, and I still need 7-8 weeks to put everything where I want, but the production of Legends should begin in March. Testing and fine tuning the materials, machines and tooling will continue until I'm sure I got everything just right.
And hmmmmm.... No! Its not Ala's, its Legends!

When you start selling them ...remember me !! Legends .. nice name!!

have you bought the patent from technisub? it look mighty close to a copy! Ala fins?

I think if they find out they will be slamming it into some kind of court, either for a business negotiation, or to close it down!

bushyfox , even if they are quite similar to the Alas model, you only need like for instance one scracth in your model to make it different. The only thing you need to do is registry the patent of your mold with a little tiny diference and thats it, no one can tell you nothing, I have seen that happening in bodyboard fins.

But it was a good comentary and sometimes important!

how do they perform in relation to ala's?

Legends, in comparison with ala's, have nothing in common at all. Materials, design, logo's and production ways are all different. Its the same, if someone would try to sue company that produces plazma TV, because their oldstyle TV looks similar, but in all other ways is different.
And my pro-bono lawyer says its so ;-)
About morality of this... phlox them. They are the ones not producing ala's, so its their fault! Dont think its easy or cheap, to make the fins. Its not.

About performance of Legends, its not known yet, as I havent tried all the materials available, but I'm confident to find the best solutions possible. This much I'm sure of, as I'm the one that will be making them, and I know what I want from a fin. On this photo I used two separate materials, one of them is very close if not already perfect, the other is not satisfactory. Its what testings are all about.

Where are you testing the fins????, there is an important competition coming in April (Australia Cup), there will be players from almost all around the world, it would be good if we get to know the fins there, are you coming?????

Oh dude, If I'd have the money to go to Australia cup, that would be the money I'd spend on bettering my fins... I'd love to come there and I hope I will one day! Maybe I find a way to send a pair for testings...

that sounds great, I am traveling from Colombia, I have to make the most of this trip. we are looking for new fins that are not as expensive as the fibre fins......too expensive!!!!
