Weird Fins

I stumbled across this site through DeeperBlue.net Forums - Powered by vBulletin which is the biggest free diving forum, have a look at APNEA.cz - Collection of Weird Fins

There are some amazing fins here and it would be interesting to know if people have tried any of them.

Cheers GH

Yeah, trux has some very special fins on there!

The lunocet development is being followed with great interest in the freediving world, especially since the inventor has been posting progress and thoughts on deeperblue. The aqueon and freedom fins are the same theory done slightly differently, but not much use for hockey!

I've personally tried:
Speedo breaststroke fins (hilarious things. Good for training, crap for proper swims)
Effesub whalebone fins (makes no difference. Very comfortable footpocket though...)
C4 Mustangs (only out of the water. Very comfortable, I'm saving up!)
Split fins
And of course I regularly swim in a monofin. They get enough funny looks at the pool as-is.

SoprasSub Spider Fin

Just as a footnote I have tried the SoprasSub Spider Fin and it had good speed but it has a problem when you kick off sideways because of the foot pocket to separate blade, you loose all sideways movement power.

So these are no good for hockey, if you live in Melbourne you can try them out if you want just contact me, luckily I didn't have to buy them as they were a sample given to me and I gave the manufacturer some feedback on them for our use.

cheers
GH
