One idea drives another... If I havent read this thread, I would have a free afternoon, but now I have to pick up all the gear for my unit ![]() I just got another idea. By changing the intermediate preassure on the valve of the 1.st stage regulator from example 8 bars and 4 bars, there will definetly be the distinct difference between sounds. One will be higher frequency, another lower, thus we'll have diferences of the buzzers sounds between fields. Another thing to test! Last edited by Flk_d_pk : 23-01-08 at 03:16 AM.

We have tried the unit today for the first time, and here are mine and my friends thoughts about it. Mainly we focused on the "bad things" about it, as the unit performed like it supposed to. Here are the +es: 1.Fast, instant reaction on the buzzer anywhere in the pool, 2.The sound was good (everyone in the pool was shocked... ),3.The buzzer uses approximatly 2 liters of air, for 5 second buzz (only 2 seconds is enough to be sure everyone heard it), 4.So the 4 liter bottle we tested today, can make 4x200bar=800 lit. /2lit = 400 buzzes of 5 sec, or 800+ buzzes of 2 seconds. Therefore, 1 liter bottle can make 100 - 5 second buzzes, witch is far enough for all of the UWH tournaments use, if there is a bigger tank and refill hose. Here are -es: 1. 4 liter bottle is cumbersome to wear (not even slightly in my oppinion, but I'm used to carry 60 kg tanks on my back...) ![]() 2. (But I wouldn't want to play the game wearing this unit.) Here are the thoughts about improving: 1.1 liter bottle should be much easyer to carry underwater, and make everything a child's play ( I think its also the case with 4 lit bottle ) 2. It seems that putting a neoprene "shield" arround the tank, would make wearing it much easier no matter of either 1 or 4 liters tank.(ref's like their games to be easy on them, and neoprene is very positive in water ) 3. Instead of using BC inflator hose, it would be better to use Dry suit inflator hose, as its some 20 cm longer, and the buzzer could be held in the hand no matter of hand movement. We test it holding the buzzer in the hand, as well as having it mounted on the belly belt. Its all about personal preferences. 4. Using only 1 liter bottle, it would be possible to drop the "plastic backplate", and mount the plastic belts directly on to 1 liter tank, making everything more spartan, but also lighter. I'm ready to bring 2 units of this experimental refferee buzzer to EU club championship this saturday, for everyone to test and make their own conclusions (with longer dry-suit hoses). It should be used as "extra" tools, only added to usual refferee's signal-gong practice. But I'll do that only if tommorow, I can find cupple of 1 liter tanks. I dont want anyone to drop this sistem for any of the "pussy" reasons, but if noone likes the sistem, its fine with me, at least I tried to make one. Tommorow, I'll add some pictures of the unit, that we made on the pool today. Rudi Last edited by Flk_d_pk : 24-01-08 at 12:53 PM.

Hey Rudi, Great to see there are people working on this. So if I understand it correctly, it would be an air-compressor buzzer and not an electronic remote control connected to an electric alarm. Interesting to see so would be great if you could bring it to Prague this weekend. See you tomorrow evening, or surely on Saturday.

Yes Fred, it works on commpressed air. Its a divers way of reffereeing .I cant upload pictures today, becouse I lend my cables. But I'll upload eventually. Anyway, I'll bring the units on championship. One unit will have 4 liter tank, and one will be 1 liter. I'll try to make the neoprene shield until then. But the whole sistem should include buzzer for the chief refferee also. The tank for the chief refferee should be 15 lit, and used also to refill the small tanks. The thing is, that in order to work properly, I need more time. 2 days isn't enough. It needs about 2 meter LP hose for the buzzer to be in the water, and I'll have to "adapt" industrial pressure switch between the hose and 1.st stage. This way, It will be easy for the chief refferee to push on the switch, becouse the switch will be on the tank, and not on the buzzer. I hope you understand what I'm saying. I can put 2 hoses on the tank, so there will be two buzzers, one for underwater, and one for outside water (these buzzers are not the same). Both will be engaged by the same switch. I'll do that only, if most of refferee's like the sistem and wants to use it. These 2 units costs me nothing, I borrowed all of the elements from 5 different friends ![]() Fred, you'll be the first to see the units, just find slovenian team on friday. Probably I'll be in some pub.... :-) Last edited by Flk_d_pk : 24-01-08 at 10:43 PM.

Pre-tournament team building . Thats how its called! But no, I'm not playing on the tournament, so there is no need for me to team-build anything . There's 11 players on our team already. I'll help with reffereeing and stuff...
