| 2.5 is perfect! 3 will still do the job, and more is nice to see the different style.

| We play in a village pool which is 1.2m one end and 1.8m the other. Not great! Gave us a shock at Sheffield and an even bigger suprise at a regional comp where we played in the dive pit, the pool was 15m long and 4.5 metres deep! |

| Lewis, its not 1.2m its 90cm

| Bagers cannot be choosers After many ,many years of looking for a pool to play uwh in NYC area,I found an Olympic size indoor pool with retractable roof ,5 feet deep and flat !![]() So from no pool we going to indoor outdoor uwh&uwr year around with multinational team. ![]() |

| not having huge experience at this depth myself I’d say the most important thing is to get on the bottom much earlier than u might in a more shallow pool. Something which we were told last year after our first time in the 3m pool at Ponds Forge was to try, rather than go to the bottom of the pool, when waiting for the puck, only go half way down, this way you can quickly get to the bottom if the puck comes your way but if it goes the other way its not too far to the surface and you can get back into the game quickly. Personally I think it’s a really good depth, get a bit of taking use to but overall it better as players on the surface don't get in the way

| yeah i was told the same thing when i played in 3m the first time hamish - hang at about mid water until your sure you need to commit to the puck, otherwise you can go to the surface and be mid water again pretty quickly |

| Hi jombob145, I played in the worlds and a few pondie tournis now at 3m, and I love it. You guys will be fine I’m sure. The midway hanging is not bad...but also you tend to want to get to the surface pretty quick. In you local pool a little push off the bottom with the hand will usually suffice but here if you do that you will need a good 3 kicks too. I found you need a) be decisive when you going up (otherwise you will not fully commit to your tackles in the first place) b) place your heals on the bottom and push off, whilst pulling with one arm (making sure you don’t push off a player- you will get sent out, I’ve tried). This will get you to the surface in the best time with the least amount of effort. hope your all well in sunny Newcastle, Merry Christmas, Soph.
