Oh, and for those interested, the LeaderFins Games 135s are encased in rubber like the 2006s and you can pick the length. I'm pretty tempted to get a shortish pair with Spetton soft pockets. More expensive toys! |

| You can test it even further. Try doing 25 with mono & puck, and compare that to regular 25 with puck... If the results prove some serius distance, you can test it even further. Have one of your backs in the pool, and simulate the dive/chaseing you... This should give some clue of what monofin player can do in a game, and what seems imposible. @Duck - Whats your foot number... 42-44 ? Last edited by Flk_d_pk : 28-02-08 at 02:55 AM. |

| a possible alternative Has anyone tried any of the Force Fins for hockey, I think they are made by someone call bob jackson in the US, If not totally suitably at the moment could the design be modified to make them suitable for octopush. |

| The Farce Fins are a perfect examle of why 35 year old technology such as the Ala is still better for underwater hockey than 98-100% of the newer fin designs. The Farce Fin as well as most new fins are designed for the lazy SCUBA guy who wants to enjoy sucking down stale air while expending minimal effort to get from point a to point b. Many of the newer designs like the force fin, most split fins, the mares volo and mares excel are made for efficiency which means no matter how little effort you put in you get movement. Kilo-joule for kilo-joule you will cover more ground at a medium pace with these designs than for a typical hockey fin... however you will be unable to sprint with most of these designs. They are made to move medium to slow speeds with little effort and they are very good at that. They are not made to move fast, and with some no matter how hard or fast you kick you can't. conclusion no good for UWhockey

| Uh???? I'm supposed to remember that? Depends on the fin maker so off the top of my head, I have no clue. But I will check my Ala's when I get home.

| For a coach the excels are great. Fit is soft and you can wear them all weekend with almost no leg fatigue. You can get some speed by kicking faster and shallower than you would most fins. Think 6-beat swimmer kick. But still the speed is relative and more closely resembles a jelly fish rather than a yellow fin. But one fast jelly fish.
