| Our club has been playing with a Simms puck for the last 3 years. best puck i've ever played with. However I forgot my Simms puck a couple of weeks ago, we played with the old plastic coated ones that the BOA sold before the Simms puck, i found it impossible difficult to play with, and realised what brillant control and extra grip the Simms pucks give |

| And just think, the control and grip on the Simms puck ain't that grand... Your old pucks must have been abysmal. The Canadian oreo pucks used at 2002 worlds were awesome, as were the Parore pucks in 2004. The Parore pucks in particular had some of the lead drilled out of the centre of the puck which helped them sit flat and they stayed nice and stable through high speed skills. I'd like to have a crack with the CanAm one if anybody heading for Marseilles this weekend has one they could bring along...

| please not those aussie looking ones though, god they are disgusting. the italian puck is horrific, its basically got the terrible shape of the aussie puck with a slicker surface that makes control a bit tougher... the only saving grace is it seems a tad heavier than the aussie puck so it flys a bit quicker and doesnt pathetically float in the water like the aussie puck.

| Yeah, when I'm coaching I give the Italian pucks to kids that annoy me as a punishment. It's just so easy to fail with.

| We sometimes play with a SA Orca puck, on our tiles at Warragul (very very fast) it is like a bullet. I like it. I think you have to have a puck that compliments the the pool bottom. Cheers Belle

| Yeah the puck – bottom match is the really key thing… course there are some pretty crappy pucks out there, but a good puck on a bad bottom can be a bad puck as well. Nothing worse than a soft puck on a slow bottom that just makes everything slower, or a hard puck on a fast bottom that never settles down and has no feel for moving it. The Canadian oreo puck is great for medium speed bottoms and really the only decent one for use on sport court. I like the CanAm pucks with the plastic disk for slow bottoms like concrete or gunite (a kinda plastic concrete) He makes them different densities so they can range from pretty soft to really hard depending on the bottom. The hard ones are pretty durable for concrete like surfaces, but they do bobble quite a bit, the ones with the disk can tend to bobble across grout lines. |
