| Hey Torto, See my post just above your one... I am prescient and thought you might ask. I like it a lot, the only problem is durability. I bought quite a few for a good price from this site by the way.. I can recommend it, the service was excellent (ie. Rang me the same day to discuss my order when something was not clear to them - almost unheard of for a web store for me). Scubastore - Diving Gear and Dive Equipment, Diveinn# Might be a good idea for a new thread actually... recommended websites for purchasing gear (maybe it already exists).

| ScubaStore is excellenb, but shipping is pretty killer to the other side of the world. Another good mask is the Technisub Micromask/Marina and Cressi are bringing out an Occhio Plus that looks excellent. Both are well worth a look and should have much better durability than spheras. Side to side vision isn't as good, but there's no distortion and up/down vision is better. |

| it's the spindly little frames. found some random nwe super low volume ones in florence when we ere there earlier in the year. a lot of guys are starting to play with them here. dols might have one too. will find out what they're called. |

We have a player who has incredibly explosive speed so he can throw the puck by you and chase it and get it on most tries. However, he sometimes aims for the smallest hole between the defender and the bottom and then complains about getting his head smashed. I'm not saying you instigate, I'm just saying to consider the possibility... And to stay on topic for a change.... I like the sphera as the peripheral view far outweighs the loss of clarity that the plastic lenses have.

I understand your point, but do not think that it is attributable to my playing style. I am the type of player who does as little as possible until the back gives me the puck on a plate and I can swim unopposed to the goal. Frankly I often don't know how they get broken, but at least one came because a deliberate elbow to the face to stop me swimming past. Broke two I think playing in French competition. That has more to do with the style of play in France and certain players in particular than my playing style I think. Had one broken at Worlds in Sheffield by Canada. I think they were getting annoyed in the quarter final. Was not the only person from our team in that game to get his mask broken. Basically the frames are flimsy, and a knock that another type of mask would shrug off breaks it. Before the Falco I think I only ever broke one mask (in 20 odd years). It is however comfortable and I like it, so it is a trade off I am willing to make. I tried the Sphera, but didn't really like the distortion of the lenses to your vision. At the time we were also told they would probably be banned in the French competition since there had been some injuries to people wearing them. The Falco also has very good peripheral vision (you only need to be able to see shadows) - mainly because of the thin frames.
