We make our gloves the way Kelly and Snow (only Aussies or Kiwis might know) used too - cotton glove soaked in latex, dried off, thickened latex piped onto the glove where we want (ie. I have more protection on my knuckles than Todd; his glove is lighter than mine). We do about 4 layers of latex. Each layer is dried. We make a glove, see what we like/dislike and change it next time we make them.

It's pretty hard to describe.

Ours look nothing like yours - probably because they are designed differently.

i have my gloves made relatively thin to have it lighter

i'm all for having every piece of equipment really light, and i find all of the bulk made gloves to be too heavy and obtrusive for what they offer.

the bulk made gloves are very good for beginners and younger players who are just getting into the game; but i believe as you move into the higher levels of hockey you need to either need to make the glove yourself or have it specificically customized for your hand.

that's my glove, it's about 2 months old now - the thickest point on the glove would be about 7-8mm, that's on the knuckles

gloves

those gloves where sven is talking about are great to play with.
You have enough control with your stick and the puck.

if people never seen this glove en never played with this why al those comments that this one isn't good.

i am happy that i have one of those and i recommand everybody to have one of his own.

greatings Peter

Sven, have you ever looked through my eyes or played as me in a game? -- no. Ever been to tournaments or clinics that I have played in? -- very unlikely. You ever practice with me? -- no. So don't go guessing as to what I have seen or not seen or done or not done. I have done clinics with the Roger Bacon Kids you mention as users of your exquisite glove. And they are support that the glove could be good for beginners, which is what I said. As to your Houston Defender, well they play quite the bashing game down there so you may wnat to know your customers before you start using them as sales points. But no doubt when playing with bashers, and you mention France and your home country Nederlands as examples, you would want a glove that protects from bashers. For that I will not argue.

But yours is not a glove that is good for hockey unless you want hockey to be a bashing game. Plain and simple. And like Liam, I did see the picture you posted and by looking at that I CAN tell that it is bigger than the Slovenian glove. It has bulkier ribs on the fingers and it is wider.

And now to answer your most urgent and necessary question -- What is a good glove for hockey? It is a glove which allows a player to use his skills and offers a bit of protection for the few times that he does get hit with the puck on his playing hand. Not one that gives the player enough protection that using the glove becomes part of the game. Sven, your arguments and your examples of bashing teams, including your home county and my Houston Defender, suggest that your glove is not a glove for good hockey. It might be for bash hockey and for beginners, but it is not good for hockey as the game should be played. Clean and fast.

Duck

No Not bigger. Iff the sl;ovenian is smaller you must play without some fingers in the glove.

Those ribs are on the same places as the slovenian and even thinner or the same than the slovenian gloves.
But you can not see that so good only on photo.

Looks funny (sorry)
But iff its good for you and you are happy with it and you find it nice to play with. Its a good glove.

For my self.7-8 mm protection on the nuckles? why so much?
That pink glove you can see me wairing at the photos by skills.
On the nuckles its 2 to 3 mm thick and the rest 1 to 2 mm.
(a real bashing glove acording to duck) I need that as last heavy defender..

But the standard Sven-glove is a little thicker than my own glove.(the grey/bleu one)
2 to 3 mm on the fingers and 3 to 4 mm on the nuckles.
(at the thickest point, to the side off those ridges they become thinner.)
Those ridges are not as thick as they look.

Tell you what Sven, send me one of your beauties and I will compare it to the Slovenian glove, a South African Glove, a True Blue Glove, and an old Hot-glue Glove. If I am wrong, I will post it here.
