I have used something similar to what gav was talking about in the past, but i can't remember the name. It was some kind of aquatic glue (aqua clear or something like that) Dried as a smooth layer over the latex.

Made the glove slide along the bottom, although if the pool surface was rough in any way, it wore off pretty quickly. It may be fine between the fingers though.

Not sure of the Argentinians but the CanAm glove is of the type used mostly in Eastern Canada. It consists of layers of grip tape, which is thick rubbery and mostly sticks to itself better than anything else, then a few layers of electrical tape to hold it all together and keep it slick for the pool bottom.

I tried making one myself years ago. It was one of the heaviest gloves I'd ever put on. Found out later I used about 3 times the amount of grip tape I was supposed to use, but I was really paranoid about the amount of (or rather lack of) protection. When made correctly they are supposed to be much lighter and more manuverable than most other gloves.

They look like just a few strips of electrical tape, but are a bit more than that. biggest benifit is you are holding the stick with very nearly a bare hand, so you have much better feel and grip.

I fell in love with these silicon gloves from Slovenia just before sheffield, only issue is they do wear out a bit faster than the Orca Glovesthat I had been using, with most of our pool bottoms, but they feel so much better, lighter, more flexible, just all around nice gloves.

Those slovenian gloves are awesome. Really light and fast compared to most gloves available commercially. Mine died after 5-6 months of normal wear but I'd quite happily pay for another one. They are the goodness.

I have found that most silcon glove are way to big and slow with too much protection. it doesnt hurt that much to take a knock or two. so i have just kept it really simple and got a neoprene diving glove, cut the palm out (and being neoprene is much less lightly to tear as i found a big problem with the Pro gloves)
I then stitched a bit of extra neoprene padding on the knucles and away you go!
1) Cheap gloves, only cost me £15 for a Pair and if you know a Lefty, split the cost!
2) light and fast
3) can still take a big knock without anything breaking!

If you think silicon gloves are larger and slower than anything made in neoprene then you need to stop buying them from south africa and holland and make your own instead... Or buy one from the Slovenians.

Alexandra is an unknown quantity at this point
Hi Sven, on the weekend I saw the glove you gave Belle - Loved the pink colour. I've made my own glove similar to that, except built up the latex more, and put more protection around the inside of the index finger. Plus some pretty 'lil patterns on it! I really prefer custom made gloves to bulk made ones as it is set specifically to the shape of my hand. Yeah, it may be a bugger to put on for the first few months but they feel beautiful and last aaages (or maybe I just need to play more hockey!)
Belle's showing a few people your glove and you may be getting a pretty big order in from Australia soon. Probably for newer and younger players, as there are a lot of them in the Gippsland at the moment!

Did you try it Alexandra? or did you only see it?
Who will win? Belle or Hannah to have that glove the next training?
My own glove is much thinner in protection.
But did you saw the bigger (men glove) as well? (the bleu/red one)
