Wow, that x-ray pic made my hand twitch. Since mine was a knuckle I had two pins that went in on either side of my ring finger and crossed a couple cm behind the knuckle. Pins were probably about the same length and yep stuck out of the skin about the same length. Pin extraction was interesting as well... pliers and brute force.

My right hand ached just seeing your post Stapper. I didn't get anything so dramatic as pins, but I made up for that in quantity - I broke that same knuckle of my little finger 3 times in about 7 months...I was a bit of a slow learner in changing my checking style and I had a Worlds I was training for!

Hmmm... some hectic stories here...

I can luckily say i have never experienced any of these bad happenings...
Mine are pretty average, knock to the head, or hard bashes to the shoulder...

But i have seen, 3 Players shoulders dilocated...
Players burst ear drums from a whack from flippers...
approximately 4 deep cuts under and above eys from pucks been flicked (one was casued by me)
1 thumb dislocated, OUCH......
and plenty cuts and stitches... oh and 1 concussion case, where a player was swimming as hard as possible to the goal and had to turn and pass the puck 45 on to P spot, didn't realise he was so close to the back wall and BANG... everyone inside the water heard it... hectic hectic
