Only joking lol
But i get to see Benson next week in the flesh.
Will i get him sorted out? Dunno.
Bet he's lost weight as a result of being a homeless person. hmm... probably.

Can Atapene give it 2 solid weeks and finish the bet early? hmm... probably.

I'd say it's even right now

atapene will become famous soon enough
today, 81.4kg

whoa those clean and jerks are intense. it's kind of funny cos it makes a fair whack of noise and makes you feel a little self-conscious as i have never seen anyone else doing them at any gym i've ever been too.... but i can handle a few stares.

OMG at the gym today this massive guy loaded up the lateral pulldown machine on max (96kg, fairly heavy!) and did his usual big loud snorts and grunts and banging and slamming etc... but then on the second set, he goes to take the weight of the stack (has to do it pretty explosively by leaning backwards and using his back etc) ...BOOM! cable doesn't want a bar of it, snaps immediately and he basically just hurls himself backwards onto the floor on his back and pretty near knocks himself out.

once it was clear he was fine it was pretty damn funny, i had to concentrate not to giggle.

anyway, yeah i'm obviously toddling along slowly but fairly consistently i think... benny might be losing weight faster but he had more to lose so i reckon it might be fairly close at the mo.

a good competition is a tight competition though, and we're going for entertainment value ay benny.

Can you keep up with Stapper on the C&J? She's a strong girl!

I have another trick to apply now - it's creatine time.
That is if you want to go there?
Effervescent is best but more costly. Go for the regular powder one if you like (it all works)
If you're into it I'll give a detailed 'how to' on creatine. There's probably a good 10% strength increase within 7-10 days with creatine. Plus 1 - 1.5kg of weight gain (mostly water to start with) but it all counts.

hmm... that makes about 83kg in 10 days. Thats 2kg short still. You'd better concentrate on food and intense lifting in the next 14 days.

Benny arrives on my doorstep next Monday. I reckon (if he listens & there lays the real challenge) I can rip 2 - 3 kg off him per week. You guys do the math - it's tight!

Alex - how is it with you?

Smile

Its going really well thanks

Dropped another kilo over the past 2 weeks. The weights are still going well, and I'm definitely noticed the extra power in the pool.

My flexibility is also getting pretty impressive. My yoga teacher is very happy with my progress and has recruited me for the next level, so its nice to have something outside of uwh to strive for I think my flexibility is definitely something I incorporate into my game, and now with more power its all starting to come together.

Flexi Lexi dare I say

creatine

atapene,
ive just been on creatine for the last 12 days,my strenght has increased by 20 percent, especially on the squats and dead lift.
i bulked up 5 days into the course of it and before i took it i was struggling to put on weight and power.

i find it really powerfull stuff.

iŽd love to hear your how it goes for you as you seem powerfull already.

drink lots of water with it.

i think i can keep up... but depends, is your bicep curl max done standing or preacher stapper?

i have experience being beaten by the fairer sex though, pretty sure my sister is still a faster swimmer than me for instance, plus i've done fitness tests with stella

i'll have a shot at creatine... but think maybe i'll give the extended sessions a go for another week first, see if i can get some improvements without it.

How refreshing to see someone go natural. Stay off the crea. If you can't build up without the junk, your body just isn't designed for the extra bulk.

Just to be clear - creatine is a legal sports supplement (as is protien powder)
I do not recommend anything but natural supplementation.

Some 'super-supplements' (aka juice) are legal in some countries but wholly illegal in all sports - plus they'll hurt you - so don't do it.

yeah i'm not against the concept...

atp-cp reaction powers anaerobic energy systems etc etc

cp = creatine phosphate right?

so you're basically just making sure your muscles have more energy stocks to burn in the session, right? i thought all you got out of it was the ability to do a couple more reps per set due to that extra creatine in the muscles...

about as illegal as protein, surely?

I'd read up on it more and let the studies run full circle before just jumping in with that stuff. And to say it's natural is misleading. Although it occurs naturally in your body, taking it through a supplement doesn't make it natural. Your body will make some of what you need and if you eat the right stuff you get the rest. Beyond that, watch out. Stay pure Liam. You can do this without it.
