| Hey Sven, that's a good idea - but perhaps we should start this thread in the Rules and Laws section. It would be great to have some vision of fouling to help train up prospective and current refs. I know Belle and I will need to do a bit of rubbing and buffing on our Reffing skills for the end of the month ![]()

I have some more movie clips. And will put them here today or tommorow. But can you put this thread in rules and laws section? A real one. 3obstruction in 1 movements. 1.Blocking the puck playing player to stop him. 2.Giving an elbow 3.Holding the arm from the defender for stopping him tot go after the puck ![]()

| I looked at your first movie clip Sven. The one that states illegal stop of the puck with the body. I have to disagree that the defender did anything illegal. If anything it was a stupid shot by the offense with the possibility of getting called for a dangerous shot. If a ref called that he should be shot there as punishment.

At first its the defender that make the flick. And iff you loook good you see that the player that get the puck . did get it first on his lower arm nearby his glove in a attempt to stop the puck, and after that it roll's up-wards to his head. And catching the puck with another bodypart as the head is illigal stopping the puck. (when done for advancing or attempting to play the puck) Iff the flick is on or nearby the head then its dangeres play. So its a simple illigal stopping from a flickt puck. With the attempting to get an advancing moment. (get the puck) and go offencive. That you can reward it with an advansed puck against that player. Rules cemas: 16.3 Infringments Players may be penalised for the following rule infrigments 16.3.5 Advancing or attempting to play the puck with anything other than the playing area of stick. But iff you think it dangeres play. YOu must also akt. And give the flicking player a time penalty For dangeres play there is a 2or 5 minuit penalty or total dismissment like rule 17.13.1 said. But Like you also said its not dangerous play. 17.13.1 If the Water refferee deems that the puck has been deliberately played in a dangerous manner, the water referee will award a 2 or 5 minute penalty , or dismiss the player for the rest off the game.

| To clarify when I say defense I am reffering to the team without possession (the guy defending the pass) and offense is the team with the puck (the guy that shot it directly at the oppossition). I looked carefully Sven and can see that it deflected off something but with the lack of quality in the clip I can't tell if it was the stick or the arm. But even if it did hit his arm, the guy had his arm out before the puck came and only made a stick swipe at the puck. He did not move his arm to stop the puck therefore he did not play the puck with his body, nor did he advance the puck with it. That was a stupid shot and the guy that got hit should not be penalized for that.
