I'm with Belle. If you're drinking lots of water and exercising semi-regularly then it's probably a vitamin deficiency of some form. Take your shoes off and smell your feet. If the odour is really bad then it's probably that you're masturbating far too much and have a zinc deficiency.

Alternatively, throw those silly mares quattro things away and get a real pair of fins...

We had a vet on our team and he got a few of us that were getting cramps onto calcium tablets - he was saying a calcium deficiency can cause cramps as well..

I didn't get any more cramps so I guess they worked?

that there is the voice of experience

git. :P

and what fins would you suggest ? playing hockey with you is getting bit expensive

Thanks Belle and Todd you might have hit the nail on the head, I've had about 2/3 months recently of no cramp (but it kicked up again a little on monday after 2 weeks off) the only difference I can think of is a slight change in my diet, I had been snacking on pumpkin seeds a lot, which are high in magnesium.

I'll give the supplements a go.

Cheers

I'm not sure how solid any of the science behind any of this is but the following listed remedies may help: (Gleaned from my perusal of medical webistes that don't suck)

Water: Dehydration

Electrolytes:
Magnesium
Potassium
Calcium

Potential remedy: Bottle of Poweraid and then the power aid bottle filled with water (I understand that triathletes use this one?)

There's also a listing for both hyperventilation and lack of blood supply to the perhiphery which !might! be factors in UWH. The Mayo clinic also lists some medical disorders (thyroid or hormone disorders, diabetes, hypoglycemia and anemia.)

My own experience is that being fitter helps keep cramp away. I used to get it when I was a spag and I get it again now I'm a fat desk surfer. In the middle when I was fit it wasn't really ever a problem for me.
