carb snacks

hey anyone got any good carb snacks recipies that the would like to share..

at the moment im trying a nice iced milk shake
its

frozen milk shake

1 frozen banana, peel em and stick a load in the freezer
or they can be room tempeture(pending on what way you like your shake)

half an avocado (ripe)

sounds weird mix but its nice

2 dates(big ones if you can find them, they are softer n sweeter but are a bit exensive)
if you cant get dates then use dried figs

1 egg white

milk

blend her up and down she goes

loads of carbs in this(theres a lot of fat in avocado i believe so watch out)

probably good to drink it 2 hours before training,it works well as you can ease off on the heavy foods a few hours prior to training and then throw this down ya and it will keep you going till training and you wont feel full in training.
quote , if im wrong, maybe its better after..
any nutritions in da house..

after training try an apple and a juicy pear n banana, its good to have fresh fruit in ya straight after training, youŽll feel the difference

anyone out there got good ideas for protein or carb snacks..

bon apetitoo

I never have a prob jamming in the carbs, its the balancing with protein that I struggle with (as I hate eggs) so breakfast is hard.

Cheers
Belle

Protein

Hey Belle,

You should try the Aussie Bodies range of protein drinks. I find they taste heaps better than the Musashi stuff. They come in a powder form especially for women, or you can try their protein shakes in 300ml cartons. Their chocolate flavour is particularly yum-yums, which they also have in a low-carb option.

Other foods that I find are easy to eat and provide a nice boost in protein - yogurt is great, I have that on my breaky cereal (rice bubbles) in the morning. During the day, whether it is between games or as an afternoon snack, the little tins of tuna have heaps of protein and they've got lots of different varieties. They're great on crispbreads and really fill you up.

Hrmmm.... now I'm hungry

Skim milk powder is a good cheap alternative to the Aussie Bodies/Musahsi powders. I've used it in the past sprinkled on cereal, in smoothies, rice puddings, etc. Pretty much just add it to anything that you think it will go with!

Not carbs but try 'lepin squeezies'. They give you extremely high levels of energy as they are filled with electrolights. Take half an hour before training/playing games. Pretty expensive if you go throught hem as fast as I do but deffinately worth it. Also with these you never get cramp!

Personally I go for steak with a side of chicken (chicken is, officially, a salad). Plenty of protein and apparently the salad bit is good for you too. Made me the man I am today. Okay, maybe the several men I am today...

ugh

Probably something similar to GU sold in the US. Comes in many flavors.
