Margaret River Rumble

For anyone in WA next month the annual Margaret River Rumble is on again.

When: 26th of May, registration 11am. Games to 6pm with presentation and curry night after. Prizes and junior games will be
held.
Where: Margaret River Aquatic Centre.

This is a great fun social comp organised by the Margaret River Underwater Hockey Club which is run by Clare Forward.

All players are welcome as it's a mixed comp with everyone split up into as even as possible teams for the day. It's been a great comp in the past with a heap of great prizes sourced from the local community. And as Margaret River is one of Australias premiuim wine producing regions a few of the prizes don't make it home from the party! :lol:

Underwater Hockey Rules!

The Margaret River Rumble was played, lost and won over the weekend and all had a good time. It was a great fun comp with about 50 players from Margaret River, Perth, Bunbury and Collie all split up into roughly "even" teams. All teams played 7 games with the top 2 teams playing a final as well. The final was fought out between Jas Miezis' team and Mike Gillespie's team. It was 1-1 at full time and went to over time with JM's team coming out winners with only a few seconds left on the clock.

It was a great day and very well run yet again by the Margaret River crew with plenty of prizes for winners, best and fairest Mens, Womens and Juniors, top goal scorers, best new player, etc, etc, etc! Job well done to them.

The curry night and party afterwards went down pretty well too :lol:

yes it was a great event as it always is. and whos idea was it to put me as a captain for a team lol. a way to guarantee a team is going to lose

Surprised you can remember the party TommyBoy! Why weren't you at the pool last night?? Still recovering??

One thing I forgot to mention was that one of the new guys that is playing in Margaret River is a freelance journalist who was taking photos and doing interviews for Inside Sport and Men's Health Magazines. So anyone in Aus, keep your eyes open for the article.
