2009 CMAS Games

Hi Tony,

I was just wondering when CMAS is scheduling the next World Games? Do we know the location and dates yet?

CMAS are hoping to decide by May this year where to host the CMAS world Games 2009.There are 4 countries left in the running : Spain ( palma de Majorca) Budapest ( Hungary FOR THOSE THAT ARE NOT SMARTER THAN A 11 YEARS OLD HAHAH JOKE ) Croatia and Tunisia . Croatia is under the IOC of Croatia and Tunisia will be under their Governemnt of sport and Tourism .) I am fairly sure it will be held around July .I have strongly requested that period as it fits with lots of nations holidays.I will post the information as soon as it is confirmed

Has there been any further developments regarding the 2009 CMAS Games?
Also, I think a lot of us would like to know whether teams that competed at the recent Durban Tournament will be allowed to compete.

Subject to the BOD approval which will be held in Mid September
2008,The 2009 CMAS world games will be held in Tunis ( Tunisia)
from 29th August till 6 September 2009.

The venue is the same as the Olympic Mediterrannean games that were
held there in 2001.

More details will follows as soon as available.

Tony,

Waiting for approval mid September, which basically means that nothing has been confirmed so far. Nothing is certain. Neither dates nor venue.
What if the BOD doesn't approve of the dates and wishes to move them to an earlier time of year?

CMAS did this with the Sheffield Championships, at their meeting they moved them to Serbia against the wishes of their commission and only after masses of protest from the hockey community they changed it back. So I would not be booking any air tickets yet.

for the countries that wish to compete I hope history does not repeat itself, once bitten twice ..........

For the WAA whingers I am just stating what has happened in the past with CMAS so dont shoot the messenger.
