NZ's Official Position

Hi everyone,

Lots of people both in NZ and overseas have been asking what NZ's official stance is with regards to WAA and CMAS. The point of this post is to inform you all what UWHNZ's official position is.

UWHNZ does not want to get involved by taking sides in the political arguments. All we want to do is play uwh.

UWHNZ's official position is that we are sending 4 teams (Men's, Women's, U19 Boys & U19 Girls) to Durban for the 2008 Event. We are also planning on sending Elite teams to the 2009 CMAS Games.

UWHNZ's official stance is that we are interested in playing underwater hockey and if anyone issues an invite to us to attend a competition, then we will do what we can to attend any international competition, as we would like to be involved.

Zoe Firth
Secretary- UWHNZ

Jols' official position

Thanks Zoe,

Frankly this is the first bit of common sense that I have seen on this issue. Surely this is the stance of all players from around the world? We just want to play, so stop making it impossible for us to do that.

I may be moving to NZ again to take advantage of an association with a brain, Can I play for you?

Wellington competition in March

Hi Zoe, its Sharon

I met you in Melbourne not long ago, not sure if you remember me , but will see you here for our Nationals soon. I will be in NZ on family business b/w 1st and 10th March but i am free for the competion in Wellington. Im not sure if Aus. is putting a team in or not. But is there a spot for me to play in one of the NZ teams if we dont send one, and also anyone that can suggest accommodation for 4 nights, i will be travelling alone.

I am playing in the Vic Dev. team this year for our Nationals.

Thanks

Sharon

Hi Sharon

Hopefully Aus will send a womens team to NZ Nationals again. I'll have a chat to you about it in Melbourne on Thurs.

Zoe
