2008 CMAS European Championships

It is certainly suspicious when the forum administrator gets a bug up his xxx because he cant identify someone. Why is it so important to you? Why should it matter? I don't want to be part of the buddy network, once again Mr no vested interest rattles his sabre.

Hmm as I suspected Buhw, the person you accused of interfering with the Germans flatly denies it. Certainly adds weight to the agenda I think you are peddling. So I am calling you on it, tell us about it and all that you know.

And to think they accuse me of being inflammatory, do you all think that his comments were not. This is why I want to stay away from the buddy network.

buddies huh... well i dont see why people cant be friendly, civil and respectful towards each other and still discuss this stuff but whatever.

none of this changes the fact that there will be a comp in durban which hopefully as many people attend as possible...

some of the euro teams who may normally have had funding will have to foot the bill themselves to get there, oh well, thats bad luck but welcome to our world fellas...

hopefully it'll be a good comp and at the same time there will probably be a euros organised by cmas which some smaller countries MAY attend.

as time marches on i guess we'll see exactly how much of a comp the cmas one will be if they have enough teams to get off the ground... it's pretty much guaranteed that the durban comp will be a good one as the organisers are the uwh faithful that have helped setup the last few big comps (plus the fact that the south africans have a great record of putting on well-run tourneys)

if we see a major split it'll be bloody sad, here's hoping it doesn't happen and we see everyone in durban in the short term.

in the meantime i've started to doubt whether sniping on the forums actually does anyone any good... personally it just depresses me when i read it, and voicing an opinion is hardly worth the flaming most of the time.

i'll try to switch to the threads about gameplay and try to beat svens posting record, and do some training.

From what I have read here it has already split. So lets get on board and move on now. Mr Atapene that's the problem people don't discuss here they just lament and edge their way around topics. There is very little specific discussion to points raised and that's why it all becomes frustrating.

There is no comment about Mr Munoz, only after raising it again we may get some information about the German incident, but probably not, no more reference to our IOC federations actually being in the minority, hell if we say nothing then it might not happen or be true.

You are right about one thing Mr Atapene the value of these forums to actually achieve some good sure looks minimal.

Unfortunately, I've doubted the value of the forums from the start. I log on, read and then try to correct misunderstandings, misinformation, misconceptions and a mirad of other 'mis' and usually get flamed for it. I don't mind the heat, I live in the kitchen, but I do get tired of accusations such as the German intervenion statement. Where that came from I'll never know, and there will never be any proveable evidence - just he said, she said, but he is wrong.

It is common for a country to only play 1 uw team sport - ie Nordics only play uw rugby. It is unusual for a country to play both uw hockey and rugby - only few do: USA (very very small rugby group), Colombia, Turkey, Russia. German federation, according to my uw hockey contact there, would not support or allow entry for 2006 WC. They do play uw rugby (and very well) - women were gold in 2003 as I remember - big upset, great game.

So much of what I see on the forums is hearsay, rumor, inuendo (sp?), unfounded accusations that are offered as fact. Any of the forum 281 members ever been to a CMAS meeting?

CMAS does this hearsay thing too - ie the commission was formally accused/taken to the Disciplinary Commission by CMAS for not displaying the CMAS flag at the 2006 WC. No one was CMAS was there, so how did they come to this conclusion? and they were wrong - put up at opening, taken down a closing. The flag display was not the only accusation - there were more than 10 charges, and most of the charges were incorretly reported hearsay.

I will try to keep correcting factual errors I see, but I won't answer Romain except privately. So when someone makes a statement which looks/reads as fact, ask they if they were there? did they see it, did they talk to person(s) involved, etc? In US we have a kids game called 'gossip.' The political side of the forum resembles that game.

Just a couple of points here before we all blame the forums for peoples poor behaviour.

1. Free exchange of information is good (in the free world that we live in that is)
2. No information is bad.
3. This forum is for information exchange.
4. You'll currently find one member here who loves to flame people. Thats one anonymous idiot that wants to tear the members here down. Thats life folks, theres always one idiot in the crowd.
5. There are problems with the organisation of the sport. The only way through these problems is by intelligent and reasonable discussion. Since you are all fron different parts of the world, this board is your best conduit (i think)

Having said all of the above...
I think i know who Deeperone is. If it is this person, he's been warned by me before for using double identities to attack people.

Just so my stance on this is clear to everyone - I don't allow doble identities or members that have nothing flames to contribute (i am also not a patient person so beware)
