| It's great to hear all your updates Liam, and photos, almost feels like being there! How are the boundaries holding up?? Do you know how many people they are expecting in total? Sounds like with that canteen queue you might need to bring your own packed lunch!

| quickly before i go to pool... yeah there are a couple of big splits in the barrier now not just mine  but yesterday avo they were sticking in an additional bit,an l shape of harder plastic tucked under the inside of the first system so hopefullyits allgood... just one playing area carol with sounders from the test noises... there are about 10-11 refs from the various countries, i'll list them later... yeah the turkish fed is looking into getting additional food if needed already... and theres no video carol, just the little digital camera i have with housing hahaha. more when i get back from pool

| quick update, i have photos of the opening ceremony and stuff but i'm bushed and have no time... they magically conjoured up a video system this morning when we arrived, i have photos to show, its projected onto a screen, with a diver filming fulltime... turkey men played spain men this morning and lost 3-2 belgian men played italy and won, the coach told me, by a few goals... spain played italy and won 3-0... france played slovenia and won 10-2 or some such, then slovenia played... um... belgium i think, and won 6-0 ish. sorry i have yet to see an official results table.... benson managed to get himself sinbinned for 5 mins as a coach somehow... is that legal? also the chief ref tried to sinbin 2 of his players at once for illegal subbing, and there was lots of drama with stopped clocks and little english. in the womens grade, turkey played belgium and won, turkey played spain and lost 3-2. spain played belgium i think but i dont know the result? france play their first game against spain tomorrow, could be a big one for them. the water refs so far have been for lack of a worse word atrocious. apparently they are saving the good refs for the finals. i guess we'll see. apparently 2 of them were in sheffield but i've never seen them before and i've been at the last 4 worlds, the last 2 making friends with the ref all game so maybe they just aren't stickout type faces. who knows. no more time now sorry, i'll try to catch benson for that podcast tomorrow... there is a lot of interest from other codes coming and checking it all out and we have uwr teams warming up in the warmup space next to us too so you get to see a fair few different teams.

Shouldn't be surprised by the French, but really I was hoping Slovenia would be able to make it a bit closer. Liam keep the updates comming!! So... um... I assume Benson was in water coaching and not on deck when he got binned? Pictures? |

| With the level of reffing called atrocious I can't imagine what Benson did to get kicked out as the coach. I somehow didn't get booted in England and I think they could have heard me in France.

| i actually missed it was setting up my flashcard to download to my lappie, so then my camera was out of action while he was in the bin so gutted! but he said he laughed at a refs call from the sideline. whoa didnt realise the french/slovenia score was so big! guess i musta lost concentration at the end, i was playing with uwr balls in timeouts,but rest assured slovenia would have been much much closer had there been refs in the water and refs who knew the rules on land. huge issues and problems with organising and buses and refs and oh i cant remember will try tomorrow.
