and where do we get 1500 E/$2200 USD to buy 100? If we bot 100 from Body Bagz, I'm sure they'd give us a deal.

deal in a currency that has some stability and international value. why do you need to print 'referee' and personalize every vest? i think the vest clearly identifies the individual as an official. save 3/25 % of costs right there. and whilst i'm having a ranting sort of day: why black togs [swimsuits] for refs? sure, black is a slimming colour, but i can tell you from grim personal experience it has it limits. i think many refs are beyond those limits. how about refs wearing red togs to match their caps? dammit i don't have time to submit all the rule changes i want to make to order this planet to my satisfaction. i'm just gonna build an evil genius super-weapon and send my demands direct to the UN.

let's see: the refs are each buying their own vests; they will pay when they receive their vests or maybe their country will ante up, but I am paying for initial investment. We are not buying 100 vests - more like 30 to begin with. referees going to Durban chose black - basic, simple, most already have one and it is not a country color - not to say some countries do not have black in their national colors, but no country has solid black only. no time to fix rules? too much trouble? guess it's not that important

| Although this rash vest discussion is extremely fascinating, I don't think players will really be loosing sleep over the fact the refs don't have matching uniforms. The importance is to have good refs, what they will be wearing is secondary. Of course they should agree upon colors of caps and shirts, but color of trousers, printed names etc, is in my opinion not a priority. It is more important to set up teaching facilities to increase the numbers of good refs for the future. What better place to learn than the worlds. Even when just by looking from the side line. If refs want to pay for a pretty vest with their name on it, no problem, but I wouldn't be spending too much time on organizing that part of the competition. Especially when there is still a lot of work on building the foundations of WAA. Than again, different people different priorities. |

| refs there is a referees guild site wherein all world refs can keep up; they seem to read slightly better than players. How many refs I can personally support at Durban will depend, of course, on how many are there.

| i guess you have never officiated in a test between NZ [playing with black sticks] and any other country playing with white. if you had you might have noticed the NZ team wearing solid black. ![]() Do you know a Mr. Bucknor from the West Indies?
