worlds 2008

Worlds dates on Worlds website now April 25-May 3 (2008 AquaChallenge Championships - Home). Sorry if this is old news...it was new news to me when I encountered this info on the site today.

Mel, which part is the surprise? I guess I took for granted that I saw the dates posted here and maybe from WTD's mailing list a few months ago. Was Canada still under the impression worlds would be in July or so?

Ha ha...I am jet lagged, but not THAT badly...it is shorter than previously published which was April 21-May 3 so it may impact peoople's vacation time that is required...

Just in case you weren't sure, it's official -- CMAS sucks.
Oh yeah, and now they're broke.

Hold your horses! Before you all go shortening your time-off requests with work, it might be worth knowing that I emailed Don asking when the warm-up will start. He said the 24/25th, so it's still not clear in my mind when the teams need to arrive. The Managers' Guide still says that Elite teams must register between the 21-23 April and that all teams (including Masters & Juniors) must be registered by the 24th.

I'm still not booking any planes just yet!!

Oh and the "early payment discount" deadline is now 31 December!
(the website talks of 31 December and the original deadline of 11 December, but Don assures me we've still got time...).

The GB Ladies Elite yesterday decided to withdraw from Durban with intent to enter Istanbul instead. This is a decision of the team based on the many issues surrounding the current situation and not due to any one single reason or any input from myself.
