IRISH TEAM LOOKING FOR IRISH PLAYERS FOR 2008 WORLDS

Hi all..
im steve,i play for ireland

for years i have been hearing how many people out there in the world have irish roots and how much family they have in ireland..

blah blah blah...yadda yadda yadda

where are all you guys now

WE NEED IRISH PLAYERS


we are currently looking for players (male or female) with a will to win and play hard hockey in a world class level.

what you need is a relative,ie mother or father to be irish

c´mon,
help the irsh do some damage in the world of hockey..

spread the word,ask your friends,im sure your out there

SA is just around the corner.

Underwater Hockey Rules!

Steve - make sure you check the international rules on that one. I was living in England and playing and training with teh UK team before World's 94 and even though my mother was born in England I was still ineligable to play for UK. I seem to recall something about Olympic standards which stated something about residency or minimum of 4 years in the country.

However, given the break away from CMAS all that could be different. Hopefully all is sweet though as more the merrier I say! Good luck

Here is a quote from the WTD's website:

"Citizenship Rules

The rules in relation to citizenship are as follows;

All athletes of a national team must have the nationality of the country or submit proof that they have been a resident of that country for the previous 4 years. (the residency must be continuous it can not be accumulative)

Dual nationality, Athletes having dual nationality may choose to compete for one or another country, but this choice obliges them for a period of three years as a minimum.

These rules will be in force for the 2008 world championships and be retrospective from 1st September 2006."

So that may reduce your chances of finding new team members?
