just a little more on the crossdressing, i think it originally stemmed from an event in 1996, where richy forgot his togs when we went for a training session at a camp or maybe on the tour... cos he forgot, claire the team manager lent him her togs which he wore for the session, womens one piece in black with white stripes if i remember rightly, which he stretched out a little bit.

i dont think richy cross dressed at that function or the next years in durban but it might have sowed the seed for later. there was dressing up and silliness during the 98 tour and then at the function of the 2001 transtasmans the whole kiwi team went nuts with different costumes including mermaids and fairies (the mens team!) and then the next year it turned a little more theme-styled and richies number 2 tradition was born.

Then there was 2003 transtasmans where Rich came as a Zebra. Not that it was a costume party or anything. He just felt like it.

How to dress like a zebra.
1. Have no tan.
2. Take shirt off
3. Wrap yourself in black electrical tape so you look like you have stripes
4. Start the drinking

If I remember correctly, Richie wasn't even playing at that tournament... He just turned up for the party and transmogrified himself into a zebra.

Bentles came dressed as a very large furry bunny. A very large very sweaty bunny by the end of the night.

Hey, that was a luurve bunny thank you very much. Soft and downy and covered in pretty little hearts, aaah, I must have been the darling of the party. Pity the only thing I can remember is hanging from the ceiling with my legs wrapped around a zebra...
