| Wow, I can't believe I havent done this yet...got the biggest case of de ja vu though. I'm Tom, from WA. I'm 17 and I've been playing seriousley for about 4 years (but i had done a bit of puck pushing and stuff since i was 10). This yr I was VC of the WA Juniors (hence why we won ) and I'm in the Aus team going to NZ for the SHC/Trans Tasman comp. yeah, that'll do for me Tom

| I go away for work for awhile and come back to find all the discussion that I'd missed out on. It turns out that before I went away the forum I had been using was the "ghost" site. And I just thought everyone was ignoring me! Anyway, I'm Gavan from Perth, Australia, and have been playing now for about 19 years. Played on the Aus team since 95 but have had a couple of years off international comp. Looking forward to 2008 though, if I make the team. Spent most of the 90's travelling and playing and coaching hockey all over the World, then I got a real job  |

| Hi all, i suppose I will post an introduction as well. I'm Scott, I like skinny skiing… going to bull fights on acid… …and talking and thinking hockey. Aside from a few months here and there where I got burnt out, and consequently out of shape, I have never lost the enthusiasm of a rookie. I was introduced to the game via video when I was ~8 or so but didn’t get to a place where I could play till I was 19. Then another 4 years till I was intoduced to A level play and the rules and stuff. I was hooked from the start. I like talking about hockey, gear, workouts, skills, team stuff, players, whatever. I’ve played in four worlds ’98 through ’06 (skipped ’04 for a variety of reasons) and I hope to have a couple elite level left in me. I’m also really excited to read Lena’s advice on making a world champion. You’d have to ask coach Duck, ‘cause I’m not sure my lack of fitness did anything positive to my in water intelligence, but I think I’ve definitely filled out the first half of that training doctrine… now if I can do something about the second half. |

| Hi I am Matt Sweeney, I played my first game in the Drouin High pool in the mid 90's then moved in with Simon Roberts (local hockey legend) when I came to Melbourne for Uni. I have been playing on-and-off since then. I went to Durban for the SH in 99 and had a great time, great tournament btw it should be great in '08. Since then I have married a hockey chick (love ya Catherine!), started a family and a business, and haven't really had that much to do with 'serious' hockey. Now I am gong to NZ as a veteran in the Aus open team and really looking forward to the challenge! |
