Work in my local diving council (nothern/central California) where I was president for too many years and edited newsletter for 25 years. Attended all but 1 Commission Presidents meetings - getting good at getting from San Francisco to Rome Italy. I live in So San Francisco which is a city very near the SF airport and home of US Biotech. To fund all this fun stuff, I am a dental hygienist, AS, BA, MA degrees. | I've registered on this fantastic site for a few months now but never seem to get round to introducing myself. So here goes - I'm Darren. Many in hockey call me Daz. I live in Auckland, New Zealand. Moved up here from Wellington earlier this year. For the sake of convenience (and comparison), I decided to cut and paste parts of Andrew's (amc32) "outed" message and added my own details... 1982 (4 July) I was born. In Singapore. 1983 amc32 started playing as a schoolboy. It was a good year for me - lying in bed most of the time, fed often and was cuddled, pampered and adored by women. 1984 amc32 played in first ever schools national championships in NZ...that’s the head-start NZ has got in terms of junior player development. I was learning how to walk, run, talk - very much development for me too. ... 1988 amc32 was selected for NZ men’s team, played in every test NZ played until 1991. 1989 amc32 completed the level 1 refs course. I started primary school. ... 1992 amc32 refereed at world champs. My family moved to Wellington, New Zealand. ... 1998 amc32 finished coaching junior teams. Friends at Wellington College (a school which amc32 coached for a few years) started asking me to play UWH. Politely declined as I had no idea what the game was about. 1999 I tried UWH for the first time - almost drowned as I had never used a snorkel (Oh, you have to blow out?). Went on to play my first ever UWH game at the Wet Day Out, organised by atapene. 2000 I played at my first, and only, schools national championships held in Wellington. 2001 amc32 got one of the top coaching jobs in NZ – the national men’s side. 2002 I was selected by amc32 for local provincial ‘A’ team. 2003 selected for NZ Men's team for TTs in Hobart 2004 played at Worlds for NZ Men's 2005-2006 short semi-hiatus (still played locally/regionally) to complete LLB / BBMedSc (Hons) at Victoria University 2007 started working at a corporate law firm. Played at TTs... Now training/trialling for Worlds 2008. There you go - my life story, all tangled up with hockey. Love the game and I can't wait to hop around different continents to play it. Keep up the great work on the site! Daz |

| Hi my name is Sharon. I live in Melbourne, and i have been playing UWH for about 15 years. I have had several long breaks in between having children. This site is great for sharing information about our sport. Thanks Carl & Belle for setting it up. I was introduced to the sport through scuba diving. One of the great things about UWH is you get to make some great friends and meet lots of interesting people from many different places. Cheers |
