Hockey in CMAS

For those interested all the information for the CMAS GA is on the CMAS web site but some of it is only available to federation Presidents. Upon close inspection of the info supplied it seems that the commission will consist of 2 people, Antoine Mourad and Donato Puggioli as these are the only nominated candidates.

I have attached the financial statement for CMAS and budget, it appears that hockey has no money to run next year, it makes for some interesting reading and poses a number of questions.

Regards
GH

Thanks WTD, sure is nice to be able to see those numbers...

"Computers upgrade" of 30.000 eur/year aside, it all looks just like a budget of a "regular dinosaurus organisation" like Cmas is. Having no budgeted funds for hockey means nothing... sorry for the mistake... it means absolutly nothing!

I sure would like to see those comps tho... or better, even have one. New laptops cost arround 300 eur over here, and cant think of a reason to have 100 new ones every year...., and I doubt anyone but few in Cmas, even knows how to use this low-cost comp, far less a 2000eur + one... or maybe they prefer mac's...?

About Tony's candidature, there can be little discussion about it. With Waa born out of former Cmas-uwh politicians, there is almost no one left to do the job of transition.

And for anyone who thinks I'm defending Cmas: you couldnt be more wrong! For those wanting to have a waa-cmas fight, I have a question: WHEN WILL WE KNOW, IF OUR STICKS STILL HAVE TO FLOAT ? In writing please....

But... Spain in September sounds promising, dont you agree?

Wink hey

quit picking on Macs!! both Simon Talbot and I use one. I've been running one since likely before you were born. But they don't cost 2000E - more like 500E.

In the CMAS office, the staff (about 3-4 persons not all full time) have desk tops; I seem to remember 3 desks with large old looking hunky desk tops. Dr Dernier has a laptop and, when I last knew for sure, each committee president was 'given' a laptop for the duration of their office; a sort of loan - had to return it when out of office. There are 3 committee presidents, and I don't think I've ever seen President Ferrero use a computer of any kind - he seems to leave that all up to Dr Dernier.

I suppose it is possible that each BOD member is 'given' a laptop - that would be 15 persons.

I saw and I think I posted a memo from Tony to BOG to have few rule changes for Games:
lowering minimal age of elite teams to 16 years and non floating sticks. The minutes of that meeting say proposed rule changes approved but does not list the changes, so I've not seen approved rule changes in writing. Why don't you ask Tony???

He didn't ask specifically for the C-org's rules, just rules in writing. I could be wrong (but I doubt it), but I don't think it's up to Tony to provide the WAA rules. Haven't seen them yet and it's been close to a year since Durban. I thought WAA was going to cut through some of the crap and make things happen in a timely manner. Maybe that's just hopeful thinking on my part.

For the record

Simon sent out the rules some time ago to the relevant people for comment, he had only one reply as of today and as there has been no screeming we assume all is OK. So I have spoken with him today and he has said he will get them to me directly for posting on the WAA web site.

I will do the usual notifications when they are up.

Cheers,
GH

I am confused; are we/you/etc talking CMAS 2005 edition uw hockey rules? or are we talking uw hockey rules with all the changes accomplished since 2005 - ie 2006 and 2008? I think I sent out a written update of new, changed rules after the meeting. I usually do, but that was last year, and I don't remember precisely.

I didn't see all of the proposed rules changes (must not be on your mailing list Carol), but I remember last year asking about the new rules for eligibility to play for a country and someone (can't remember who... I should really check for the thread) posted that part of them, so they must be in circulation somewhere..

OK, found it, it is: WC Meetings in Durban

That is great rule that lets me play for two countries at the same worlds!! (thanks for that).

You mention in May last year that once Simon approves, the minutes would be posted to the WAA site... did that happen?

I appreciate that you (Carol) sent out the "what was voted on" stuff that you could, but until it is in the rules with the rules director's signature it is still not official. No one really knows how it is going to be written, they only know what is intended to be written. And it may not make it in, people do forget things sometimes.

The important thing is that there is supposed to be a timeline for getting this new info into the rules and getting the rules out to the general hockey community. Until that is done, it means nothing. Except as Flk was pointing out, let's see it in writing to figure out who wins the war of ORGs. And as of now, WAA is no better when it comes to getting the rules out.

CMAS Wins

CMAS must have won that battle duck as they have not had a rules update since 2005.
