big proponent, are you serious? jakes mum and dad make the things, they developed the mould etc. of course he's a proponent of them. they pretty much designed the things for him, jesse and elle to use.

you'll also notice though, if you look at his sticks you'll probably find he's manually altered them from the basic dorsal shape that spits out of the mould, in particular to make them thinner as their initial shape has quite a fat thickness which can make them feel a little clumpy.

if they were a slightly longer shape and didn't have such fat handles i'd probably use them sometimes when i couldnt be bothered painting sticks... but they're pretty stubby, lots of adult players here like their sticks to be longer.

to flick with them you have to use quite a pronounced rotating wrist motion, as you can see in that clip, to really get under the puck, and it results in a generally high flick but not quite so much distance.

...probably pays to bear in mind that jake was a good player with a pretty high skill level before they started making dorsals too.
