I think I understand a 3-1 and could end up a bit like a 1-2-1. The difference being in a 3-1 the more aggressive player would be determined by the side of the pool the puck is on vs. a 1-2-1 you have a forward who would be responsible for sprinting laterally across the pool to stay in front of the play all the time... less brians but more effort. I'll have to give the 3-1 a go.
