Either way though, wood (especially soft ones such as the pine gavin uses) gives a better feel of the puck through impact. It's not just about when you leap in and play around with the puck before a game. Wood tends to have a spongier nature and gives over a smaller surface area allowing you to retain control when someone smashes you. Plastics tend to either bend in one place if they're soft, or bounce the puck off the front edge if they're hard. Both results cost you big in puck control.
I'll see you on May 12th for some testing... |
Are you a dutchie?
or is atapene/liam the same person as BentFishBoy? :?:
I always like to meet other players. If you are a dutchie you now that.
(i,m one off the twins)
Then u now that it is a junior toernament. Given by the club G.O.V. from Bussum(netherlands). I can not tell of somebody can test equipment. It is not my club. My club is in the south off the netherlands and is call't TRB-RES. But my junior team will play that day in that toernament. Everybody is always welcom to try out a stick i have with me. But iff you want to form a real opinian you must train more then ones with a stick. Or are you like others that already have there opinian and then after one or two shoots or minuts throw the stick out of the pool and say that is is nothing. That is not trying or testing. Thats opinian making. And not realy trying a stick out. Most often i see the other thing. The try them out and dont want to play with the same model in wood anymore.
A never played with a britbat. I did see 1 time one in the junior competiton. I do not have a meaning about them. With the dorsal i have some time played. so did my team. (they break as easy as wood) we did not like that stick (my team) because it is not a nice playing stick for us but some other players do like it. SO it is a good stick. There are players that like the britbat, so that is also a good stick. A stick is not good or bad because one person said so. It is a good stick when the player that used it like to play with that stick.
Al that nonsense about feeling and dead material is personal. It did not make the material beter or worse.
The most important differents are
1.Wood you must paint time after time. (not painted well is against the rules)
2.Wood sliver/splinter that can hurt other players. (against the rules)
1.Plastick you dont have to paint
2.Plastick do not splinter/sliver
3.wood is more differcult to get 2 sticks the same form/model
4.Plastick the stick is always the same form/model.
If you can make a wooden stick including painting in 3 minutes please tell everybody.
So plastick sticks are also very easy to make.
(ps i now about wood, i'm in real live a furniture maker/fine wood worker)
