| I Love my new Alas i have a new pair of fins, have you noticed that water runs off new fins really quickly? This is due to a thin layer of silicon grease that protects the rubber and stops it degrading before they are sold. When they are put in water and used this protective layer is worn off and the rubber (an organic material by nature) starts to perish. The first indication of this is the fraying on the sides of your alas. Then finally a split appears and the fins are dead
So i am trying to preserve my fins and prolong their life by maintaining a thin layer of silicon grease on them, i am pretty certain it will work.
Ciao
