| Flk is right, a quality foot pocket is extremely important. Any effort you exert that gets wasted because your foot moves before contacting the fin is gone, hence the use of wasted. I laugh at people saying they want to get faster and then put on a neoprene sock (or any non-stiff material). Um.... that just acts like a shock absorber and reduces efficiency. If you really like your fin, just get a smaller foot size and fit those puppies in. You'll see immediate results on speed, even with the smaller blade that sometimes comes with the smaller foot pocket.
So if I made a couple of porcelain feet and sent them in, a completely custom foot pocket could be made. That sounds like a winner. And without the scalding.
