The hand protection (ie gloves) must be of a strongly contrasting colour to that of the stick or puck. This is to avoid confusion if the puck is being controlled by the player's hand. The colours yellow or orange must not be used for player's hand protection as these are reserved for Water Referees gloves. Note: for World Championships the puck must be orange or pink (rule 2.5.6.4) so at some World Championships pink may not be allowed as hand protection colour.
