| Hi jombob145,
I played in the worlds and a few pondie tournis now at 3m, and I love it. You guys will be fine I’m sure.
The midway hanging is not bad...but also you tend to want to get to the surface pretty quick. In you local pool a little push off the bottom with the hand will usually suffice but here if you do that you will need a good 3 kicks too.
I found you need a) be decisive when you going up (otherwise you will not fully commit to your tackles in the first place) b) place your heals on the bottom and push off, whilst pulling with one arm (making sure you don’t push off a player- you will get sent out, I’ve tried). This will get you to the surface in the best time with the least amount of effort.
hope your all well in sunny Newcastle, Merry Christmas,
Soph.
